Here is selection of recent spam-scams. It looks like they all eat from the same bowl.

    Account hacked, or QF stuff-up?

Agreed. I did not initiate a name change, but QF is not cooperating in reversing its error.

    Account hacked, or QF stuff-up?

I am unsure whether my account was hacked. Recently when trying to get an award flight back from BKK, I discovered my name was changed. It now fails to match my passport. I did not request a name change, and I did not receive notification from QF about any changes. At this stage my points seem...

    Status run: Bangladesh

That was an interesting post. I have wanted to go there for some time, but thought it was a closed area like the Alang (Ind) and Gadani (Pak). Thanks. Cheers Bush

Large plane circling above Canberra? Not on flightradar

Could be trainees doing night flying lessons, particularly if the flying pattern is repetitive. Believe it or not, CASA allows the flying lessons to be conducted over Canberra's residential and built-up areas. Sounds stupidly dangerous, that that's the way it is.

Earning QFF points on Emirates flights

I am planning to fly Melb - Barcelona and return via Bangkok in October 2018. For the round trip four Qantas flights (QF8409, QF8187, QF8186 and QF8384), are operated by Emirates, and two (QF24 and QF471) are operated by Qantas. Could members confirm that the QF flights operated by Emirates...

British Airways axes seat recline on short-haul flights

The following article is sure to create some interest among AFF members. Although a little thin on detail, it seems that rather than completely eliminating seat recline, the new seats will have a soft recline, which is code for limited recline. Past discussions about seat recline have been...

    Dental Tourism and HCMC recommendations

My dentist of some 15 years is in Bangkok...quality workmanship using US implants at half Australian price. Don't be unduly influenced by the Australian Dental Association's self-serving scare tactics. I can recommend Bangkok International Dental Center in Th Ratchadpisek without hesitation...

Best and worst experiences in Y class

My worst experience was flying SYD-BKK for free on Air Asia X during the GFC meltdown. Despite no cost, the flight was truly awful. Hard and uncomfortable seats; pitch was barely sufficient for a toddler, service was non-existent, every part of the interior rattled and vibrated, and as a bonus I...

    Priority Pass Lounges

I intend using a free pass for the first time at BKK later in 2017. When you used your free passes, were any prerequisite steps required, or did you just roll up at the lounge and present your credit card? Cheers Bush

    That would be grand thanks.

BKK Left Luggage Desk operating hours

In September 2017, I am flying to Turkey with my bike, and spending a couple of nights in Bangkok before resuming my journey. I propose to leave the bike at the Left Luggage desk on level four (departures) while in Bangkok. I understand that the desk operates seven days per week. However, I am...

Best place to exchange AUD to EUR (Singapore? Bangkok? Abu Dhabi? Paris?)

If you are exchanging $AU in Bangkok and staying close to Sukhumvit, consider Vasu Currency Exchange, which is located at soi 7, Sukhumvit Road, Sukhumvit (Google the name for a location map and current exchange rates). I have been using this exchange for greater than a decade, and it...

    Points required for upgrade

I am flying MEL-BKK return later in 2016. AFF members have mentioned on numerous occasions that using points to upgrade represents the best use of QFF points. Never having used points to upgrade, I would like to see the required points to upgrade from Y to T or W or J. After logging in to my...
