Lay Flat Beds on US airlines within the US & Canada

I also require lie-flat beds on flights and travelling within the US can be tricky as a result. AA use their 787 from ORD to DFW and LAX, United use their 787 between Denver and SFO, IAD and IAH. These J products are proper lie flat services. Variations among other products is vaaaast. The other...

MEL to DXB extended stop then to Europe O/W

Who do you have points with? QF and EK J one way to EU is pretty standard at 128k using QFF points regardless of where you fly into; you'll use slightly more with CX or QR legs.

    QF announce non-stop Perth-London B787 Services

Re: Qantas: non-stop Australia (Perth)-Europe (London) Boeing 787 flights set to soar If they ditch the standard 9/10, QF1 will spend far too long on the ground at LHR so i'd imagine a schedule change with QF2 leaving in QF10s old timeslot. FRA was not profitable for QF previously so I doubt...

    QF announce non-stop Perth-London B787 Services

Re: Qantas: non-stop Australia (Perth)-Europe (London) Boeing 787 flights set to soar They'll lose a lot of MEL pax if they ditch the routing via the ME (or Asia). Very much hoping the A380 route remains, perhaps ending in a different EU city?

Increased points required for upgrade - change anyone's thinking?

The old J to F upgrades used to be good value but I wouldn't do that anymore. It won't lose too much popularity though, it's a pretty popular option, especially with the A380 J showing its age.

Double QFF points offer (book until 23:59 3rd Apr, travel 15th Apr - 28th Feb)

About to book return fares to LHR in J but they're a ridiculous price at the moment - always the way when there's double points it seems! Disappointing!

Using points to London. Best airline/aircraft options QF, CX or EK??

So dependent on aircraft. It's possible to swing CX A350 all the way through from MEL to LGW and, if you can do that, I highly recommend it. Timings on the return can be more difficult and might mean an A330 on the HKG to MEL leg. Still, a good consistent hard product. I favour QF over EK - the...

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

I also encountered this issue recently. You need to call and they'll sort out internal USA flights for you. Not sure why it's not possible online anymore.

    Business class fares SYD-JFK July/August

Can't say i'm as familiar with VA's sale timings. Are you committed to flying with them? Air NZ have some fares around $6500 at the moment but it would obviously involve two stops instead of one.

    Business class fares SYD-JFK July/August

Have definitely seen that for $5500 pretty readily on QF during sale periods. Personally would not pay $7200! QF have a big sale in February (around Valentine's Day historically), might be worth waiting for that?

Finnair J fares to Europe in August 2017

AY are very good, with a great reputation for safety but the one downside I hear repeatedly is their food is not always up to J standards of Asian or ME carriers. Great price though so i'd book it.

Qantas double points promotion [Book by 23/1/17 for travel 1/2/17-7/1/18]

Re: Qantas offering Double Points Looking to book flights for Dec/Jan, the return date will JUST open in time! Have to see what price I can wrangle first though. I'm accruing points for a very specific goal so a nice double-up on return J-fares to Europe with 3 QF legs sounds fantastic. RE...

Etihad service in J. Anyone else disappointed?

Not really unique to EY - QR have that service in place, and handle it very well, QF F are also pretty flexible. I've heard lots of poor reports of EY service of late - plenty of customers unhappy with FA attitudes and helpfulness. I've heard enough bad reports to put me off booking with them...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options In the process of booking a European holiday at the end of this year - doing a flight with LATAM from Frankfurt to Madrid in J. Cost about $200 per person (!!!) and yields 1,375 points and 60 SC. If you're in the area and want a nice little visit...

    4 business class to Japan

It's a really popular route out of the east coast and so redemptions can be scarce. What is your QFF status?

    World's safest airlines named (2016)

There are some oddities in some of these ranking systems - I've seen Garuda in more top ten lists than one would expect in recent years. Some mates in international aviation safety stick firmly to two main airlines when they fly wherever possible - QF and SQ; even ignoring crash stats they have...

    Latest QR J deals

They're not radically different from the QR fares i've found over the past month to be honest. Looking at an itinerary for the end of this year, not yet bookable so have been keeping a vague eye on it - $6300 has been standard ex-MEL in J through to Europe. With the VISA code, it's showing as...

    Question re Classic Award options

I'd opt for QR myself - find the EK F and J seats very cramped and don't tend to sleep much in them but YMMV, this is just personal opinion. Haven't tried CX F but there are similarities between QR and CX service especially compared to airlines like QF - they tend to be less personal but still...
