    Credit to BA or Iberia

Not sure if this has been picked up up re Iberia but be aware..if you cancel a reward flight, you lose your Avios, not charges. Use BA which Avios you can always move over to Iberia. As a UK resident, we take a short hop over to Madrid to get to the US , separate tickets. Why ? Amazing savings...

Article: Transferring & Redeeming Avios: An Overview of Airline Partnerships

Just to be clear, are you saying any QF marketed flight on any partner flight, all you have to do is ensure that your Avios program FFP number, eg BA Exec Club is included, and the relevant number of Avios will show up in my account ? Thanks.

How to prevent AVIOS from expiring

Sorry if I misunderstood..I was referring to Avios bookings made using the £1 payment option....you are paying for this option using a lot of Avios which is a very bad use/value of Avios. Of course you get your Avios back if you cancel and that's it.

How to prevent AVIOS from expiring

Problem is, you are forfeiting an awful lot of Avios to get the £1 deal. A massive and total waste of Avios, unless you have mega millions of course. And all Europe routes will give you the £1 rate....if you have enough Avios to go with it.

My experience booking four round the world OneWorld reward flights with Qantas Reservations

I'm not sure if all One world carriers offer multi partner awards, but BA certainly do, but extremely frustrating like the original poster pointed out....same problems. As an example, I used their 20000 mileage maximum option and 200000 Avios.. From London I used a combination of Qantas...

Tips for moving from QFF to BAEC (QF WP + LTG)...

You say you are thinking of jumping ship to BA........fine, but from scratch/zero ? I would be looking at the potential number of AVIOS I would likely accrue per year and relevant tier points. To redeem, you generally need a hefty amount to turn left, and hope there are seats etc. Here in the...

Using Avios between NZ to Tasmania.

Thanks. I called BA London and managed to get 2 seats from AKL over to Launceston. I will need to call them again, (or I might try the BA NZ number you provided) to get back up to Sydney after Easter to make our way back home.

    Car Rental

Thanks for the quick responses, and the offer of further advice. I'm sure after talking with Mrs T we will have some more questions. We're looking to keep to a reasonable budget and will probably use AirBnb and Homestay .com for accommodation as we travel around unless there are other local...
