    Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

In a nutshell - yes. I don't believe QF allows a points balance to go into negatives, and hence any attempt at reversal from BW will fail.

Morons. The party is well and truly over. Let's just hope the residuals keep landing in there.

    Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Last year, I thought the game was up when my January points took until early Feb to come through. Turns out all was well (for some time at least)

Also JohnK I will apologise in advance for potentially flying alongside you in J class and drinking your beers in the lounge. I guess with these extra points, plebs like me can use these facilities too.

    Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

My multiple card solution was a lot more low Tech (and below the radar). Bank account for my brother, sister, mum, dad. Handballed 2 grand between each to avoid the annual fee, and I even paid all the family telstra bills. It may have breached the spirit of the product, but at no stage did it...

    Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Back to the same old question - which terms and conditions have been broken? There was nothing in the rules expressly prohibiting this sort of behaviour, and when it was discovered, their only recourse was to fall back on their ability to close accounts for no reason. One would imagine someone...

    Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Points were earned within the rules. Bankwest realised the rules they created were advantageous to us and unprofitable for them. Closing the accounts was their escape clause. Fraud? Obtaining financial advantage by deception? Spare me.

    Points Reversals

Has anyone ever had an instance where points that were incorrectly credited to your QFF account, through either an airline or a bank, have been reversed back to the source?

    Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

ditto, I've been used to points being credited quite regularly on about the 5th of the month. Nothing yet, but I'm reluctant to rock the boat by having a real living person looking at my account which has had 50 one-cent transactions a day for the last 18 months.

Annual fee [waived when 'threatening' to cancel?]

Got a call last week asking why I hadn't activated my new Visa card yet. I told them I wasn't happy about the sneaky increase in the annual fee to $139. They waived it for the first year. 2000 bonus points, happy days

    Paypal

What I meant was that Paypal users with only an amex card can actually purchase directly from Australian sellers even though they don't offer that facility (outwardly). I'll PM you the link to the auction I won...

    Paypal

Here's the thing...I've paid an aussie paypal merchant through the account I made, even though they didn't seem to offer it (their graphic only showed paypal MC and Visa). I convert the funds to AUD when I pay. It makes no difference for US sellers, as I pay in USD anyway, but for Australian...

    AMEX 17,500 points offer

hmmm...depends on their agenda, they might want to wipe the fee-free-for-life gold cards off their portfolio, and hence they're sending you out these targeted offers. I was actually resigned to losing my gold card when I took up my maximiser, but the gentleman on the phone actually gave me the...

    AMEX 17,500 points offer

Not a problem - I have 3 - Amex Gold, Rewards Maximiser, and Qantas Amex Premium, they won't make you cancel your existing card, despite the online form saying otherwise :)

    Paypal

Bought some iPod socks for 9.50 AUD...Looks like it's sent a charge of 7.42 USD to the Amex...but it was with an australian seller. Also the addressing system is a bit dodge as they insist on having Town-State-ZIP-USA in all the forms...still, the transaction went thru, emailed the seller and...

    Paypal

Update: Got the expanded use number, entered it, Paypal says I'm good to go Will test to see if there's any foreign currency transaction costs. There's a drop down option to pay in AUD, so I'm not sure whether they'll send an AUD request to my card, meaning no conversion fee, or whether...
