Here's an update....booked Freedom fare ASP-SYD using 10% discount code and then tried to do the upgrade. Computer said no....not able to upgrade from this fare...eeek....rang VA and no problems after about 10 minutes on the phone and booking came through in J - YAY! BTW, as the flight is 3...

Yesterday, on the return portion of our trip, I tried to access the lounge at SYD using my lounge passes. The attendant said that they couldn't access my account but let me in anyway. She said that my account must be suspended or inactive as she couldn't see my profile. Very odd as a few hours...

It's bye bye to QF for me. I've just completed 2 J class returns to Hobart from Sydney, one on VA and one on QF. The difference was stark. Crew and food were miles ahead on VA. One dinner meal on QF, a cold beef salad, was inedible and the service was dreadful.
