    General Medical issues thread

Well, at 33, yesterday I was blessed with my first set of dentures. Had to lose 2 bottom front teeth due to bone loss. It's been an odd 20 hours or so - I had braces and retainers as a teen so I know the feeling of something foreign, it'll be interesting how it goes long term. Unfortunately...

Discussion on Cats, Moggies and Felines in general [with Pictures]

Gingernut has settled in well and continues to be a lovable weirdo. Behind him is his big brother, Bandit, who is loving his new sibling.

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

We've had a spike in Central West NSW - 28 new cases in Dubbo (who had a Delta outbreak in September as well) - doesn't surprise me, though. I was there yesterday in the mall and I estimate maybe 10% of people were wearing masks. It's going to spread like wildfire again amongst the community.

Recently my parents lost one of their cats, and the other was very lonely. Enter Gingernut, the most adorable little ginger and white ball of love. He is such a cuddlebug, and his room mate Bandit is very happy to have a friend again.

Booster vaccines, eligibility and travel bookings

Was already booked to get boosted on 11th Jan with GP - they couldn't move it forward due to no vax availability before 19 Jan, but suggested to make appt at local NSW Health vax clinic. Booked online (thru NSW Health) for Thursday afternoon - easy as.

Had a bath the other night for the first time in this house (sooo... about 6 years) - Flick was very confused. (note: bathwater is not dirty, just bits of lavender from the bath salts I used)

Where is this photo taken? (Anyone can post a photo)

Sadly, not in Aus. Unfortunately we aren't allowed to do "shoot out" in Australia due to safety regulations (this is a restoration project). :( Correct! "The Patch" as the community refers to it.

Big points to anyone who can identify this one. (Photo: Bob Brown, I think. I was there when it was taken, though!)

What Do You Do When You First Arrive at a Travel Destination?

Unpack somewhat, flop on the bed for a few minutes, then go for a walk and find food. I am ALWAYS hungry when I arrive at a destination.

Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

48hrs post 2nd Pfizer jab, so far so good. Surgery was very busy which was good to see. Arm was very sore and still is a little, was a little lethargic but nothing like the first dose. Onward and upward!

    What’s your favourite souvenir?

I don't really buy souvenirs unless something takes my fancy. I'm a fan of fridge magnets though. This is my most loved I think - a glass globe from Prague.

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

Reporting from regional NSW Lockdown in Orange: HUGE lines at testing sites this morning. Town very quiet, I ducked to the supermarket last night before lockdown was announced and it was well stocked and pretty quiet. Reports that supermarkets were overrun around 7pm. A few of our staff...

Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Well, I'm now 24hrs post 1st dose of Pfizer. I have a headache, bloody sore arm and am very tired. My experience: Went to a local GP practice. Checked in. Saw doctor. He asked if I had any questions, just asked what side effects to look out for (everyone I know has had AZ) - he said flu like...

Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Update from me: No dice on AZ. I had discussed with my GP and went to the appointment (at a different clinic, as my GP surgery was not in the current rollout) - I had a discussion with the GP who would be administering the dose. He asked why I wanted it, what I knew about the pros and cons and...
