QF WP here and while I wasn't able to manually select MCE via the AA app, they were able to do it for me on the phone. There's a chance on both separate calls, they incorrectly assumed QF OWE had similar access to MCE as other published OWE

Ahh I had wondered why flights/accom were particularly expensive that week. If it's any consolation, I get into Houston on the 24th (henceforth known to me as Thanksgiving Thursday), leave to Austin on the weekend, and fly home via LAX a few days after. D'oh!

Brain trust, what's the go with requesting Y seats for internal USA flights? Looking at multiple city combos (e.g. LAX>JFK) for later in Nov and can only see Y award seats with 1 stops, although AA website show plenty of paid direct flights. Thanks

Found Emirates and BA lounges both to be underwhelming. But great for lounge hopping nonetheless. Now for CX to reopen theirs...
