    Amex Travel and Jetstar

Just noticed that Jetstar now appears to be bookable through Amex Travel online. Flights are showing without fare options e.g. to book a bundle, so you're stuck with the Starter fare and you can't seem to add baggage. They're also pricing around $6-7 higher (there's a $5 tax listed) regardless...

    An extra 17 miles.. deliberate?

This is similar to the QF KUL-BKK saga of 2018 but from a redemption perspective rather than earn. The VA mileage calculator has Sydney to Melbourne as 456 miles. Great Circle has this at 439 miles - a difference of 17 miles. Now of course this on it's own won't cause any dramas, after all zone...

New VA carrier charge on reward seats (from 1/1/19)

Was just looking at the points tables at: https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/Redeem/Airlines/PointsTables/ Looks like there's a new carrier charge for reward bookings from 1 January 2019. Incredibly disappointing especially for premium/business to LAX.

    "More choice" for customers

In addition to the in-flight internet announcement, did anyone pick this up in the news.com.au article? It'll be interesting to see if anything eventuates... Paying more to earn more points - not sure how it'd work since domestic points earn is already linked to fare paid. maybe a bit like...

    Myresort Glass

Has anyone actually paid for the My Resort Glass? Saw the flyer at the Mercure Gold Coast - $32 per guest per day. "A selection of soft drinks and juice throughout the day, plus, beer, wine and coughtails in the evening." I'm wondering how popular this actually is...

Why is there no SYD to SIN overnighter?

Just curious.. Why doesn't Singapore operate an overnighter out of Sydney? They have one out of Brisbane, Melbourne and even Perth so you wouldn't think it's a demand issue... It could leave around 10:30pm (before curfew of course) and get into Singapore around 5am? SQ211 currently gets into...

VA804 on Mondays (Syd to Mel a330)

To my knowledge, VA804 6:30am Syd to Mel (just on Mondays) is the only triangle flight operated by Virgin's A330. On that note, say you're booked on a Flexi fare, would you consider using 4900 points on an upgrade to 'the business' to be a good use of points on this flight? I did so...

Le Club Platinum member lounge access at Pullman (Syd, Mel)

I'm curious to know if there are any le club platinum members who would go out of their way to stay at a Pullman hotel on the basis of complimentary lounge access over a Sofitel in Sydney and Melbourne (where as we all know, the complimentary lounge access benefit is excluded). I.e. Pullman on...
