I suspect there might be a reconciliation process that updates the balance based on activity (similar to a pending transaction on your bank statement being finalised). I've had some recent upgrade deductions appear on the activity statement but take an hour or more to update the balance.

July QF17 SYD-LAX PE-J Came through at T-28. E/F was showing J6 C4 D0 before it cleared. It is now showing J0.

There's showers in T1 and T3 (although I'm not sure if they're open at present) but I don't believe are any public showers in T2. The VA lounge showers were also still closed last time I was in there two weeks ago.

Confirming it was the security staff who said it to me. No VA staff were visible. I chose to ignore him and push my way through anyway which ended up being the right decision. I’ve cancelled Monday’s flight on VA and rebooked on QF. I don’t even want to think what that queue will look like...

I made myself known to staff when my flight came up as Final Call, especially when they started funneling ground crew in front of me when I was close to the front of the queue. Their response (and I quote): "I don't care". I eventually had to push past the ground staff myself.

The escalators were out of action and it was a 10 minute wait for the elevator to get up to departures (everyone was sent out to queue for the carpark elevators - stairs were not available). If I went down to check and it was closed, I would have missed my flight.
