Qantas Any Seat Rewards has specials

It did for me. I cancelled my Classic Awards booking, booked Any Seats in First, and received a $700 refund on the taxes I had paid.

Qantas Any Seat Rewards has specials

Quite possibly, although in this instance it wasn't showing under Classic Awards. I had basically been struggling to find anything under Classic Awards - and only looked at Any Seats out of desperation. What was mildly frustrating was that I had been on the phone with Qantas trying to find...

Qantas Any Seat Rewards has specials

The 142,000 points for SYD-JNB included taxes, which I was fairly happy about (apparently Any Seat bookings are inclusive of taxes).

Qantas Any Seat Rewards has specials

I have never really bothered checking out Any Seat rewards, as the points required are bordering on farcical. However, in planning a holiday in South Africa next year, I browsed Any Seat, and picked up 2 First Class seats from Sydney to Johannesburg for 142,000 each. Coupled with the J Classic...

    Qantas First versus Business

I remember reading about this, and also that some airlines allow for it in their seat design?

    Qantas First versus Business

I'm joining this dicussion a little late, but I have found in F that when the seat is in the 'bed' position, your feet are slightly higher than your head. - which is kinda unnatural (especially immediately following steak sandwich and Crown Lager). J has the opposite issue, where you can wake...

    SYD-BKK J vs. F

Okay, I did the right thing, and saved the client $$$ by booking J for $4K. Its nice of QF though to have equal fares for F and J on their website. This allows me to invoice my client $6K for a return J fare (which is the "Qantas published rate") and fly F. Shame I have a conscience.

    Ff Help!!

My other, somewhat vague, recollection is that discounted fares on Air NZ don't earn Air points. is this correct?

    SYD-BKK J vs. F

If you happen to be speaking with my boss or client, you know nothing of these fares and $6,035 for F is judicious use of company funds. In fact, I should be congratulated for saving the company money.

    SYD-BKK J vs. F

I just booked SYD-BKK via QF website, and was offered two choices; J for $6,000 or F for $6,035. Any theories as to why these prices are so similar? I checked other dates, just in case the price were perculiar to those I had chosen, but they seem fairly standard. Why would anyone choose J?

Hertz #1 Club Gold FIVE STAR

I am a 5* Gold member, and could probably attain President's Circle without too much effort - but the program holds little interest for me. I use a range of rental car companies, just to try out different vehicles. If Hertz made the benefits of PC more attractive, they would get all my business.

    Ff Help!!

I know little about Star Alliance, but understand that Air NZ (and possibly others) have a different points redemption process for flights - whereby you book a flight as you ordinarily would if paying for it, only when you come to submit payment, you offer frequent flyer points instead. Sounds...

    Hotel for overnight layover question

I can't help you with your accomodation question, but Treminal 2 in PEK is the international terminal.

Getting that extra welcome when on board (QF)

I agree. On a peak hour, mid-week CityFlyer flight, half the cabin seems to be Plats / Golds.

    World's Best Lists

I'ver managed 2 on the list - Four Seasons in Istanbul and Oriental in Bangkok. Only managed to stay in the first one because it was mid winter, the hotel was half empty and it was cheap(ish). I noticed the room rate was nearly double in peak season. The problem with this approach is that...

    Grades of Platinum

I reckon QF should use op-ups more often as a bit of a marketing / service tool. I received one last year trans-Tasman, I was surprised how suddenly I had forgiven QF for all their past sins and was thinking nice thoughts about them. Eventually I had to get a grip and remind myself that I...

Getting that extra welcome when on board (QF)

I often get the handshake and brief chat, but never when I am travelling with my wife and kids (must remember to leave the misses at home). Recently, I swapped seats with a French bloke who was keen on the window because it was his first trip to Sydney. He received the "nice to have you...

    Fiji Horror on Pacific Blue

This episode makes a bit of a mockery of their advertising campaign which claims they are completely customer focussed, and see every passenger as an individual (thinking about those ads where there is only one seat and passenger on a plane).

    Flights to Israel from Bangkok

The first place I look when having to fly routes I am not familiar with is; http://webcenter.travelocity.netscape.com/timetablecobrand.ctl?Service=NETCENTER ..... then I at least know which airlines to think about.

I have to go to Taipei, but the only direct QF (Eva Air) flight is out of Bris-Vegas. What gives?
