ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

I've received 3 statements to date, and am halfway through my 4th (so presumably going through my 4th month). I've spent well over the $1500 on the platinum, but haven't seen the 50k points hit yet. Will it happen after the this current period is over (i.e. issue of 4th statement)? Or should it...

    Airport sleeping

It's not a matter of being able to afford it. I guess unless you've gone down the path of long-term budget travel, it's probably something you don't understand. It's the ability to save costs where you can by being smart...if we can save a nights worth of accomo, we can use that for another...

    Airport sleeping

We booked on points :) Otherwise, we definitely wouldnt be able to afford it. We're looking at doing a year in Europe on a budget. So anywhere we can save money is a bonus! I know it sounds contradictory, but given that we both managed to scrounge up points through flying with work and credit...

Booking J seats for 2 ppl

Hey guys, This may have already been answered. If so, please direct me to the relevant thread. Question: My mate and I are looking at booking J seats (using points) to London via Dubai (stop over for a few days). So effectively a multi-city booking. As it stands, we should have enough points...

Qantas Frequent Flyer Tips + Travel advice!

No, we don't know how to speak German, although willing to learn some basics in order to "get by"...We'd probably enjoy some hospitality work over an office job, so hopefully there are some hostel/bar jobs floating around. How do I go about getting a bank account set up? Will I need...

ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

T&Cs state bonus points may take up to 4 months to process...My understanding is that the once you've hit your spend, your application is placed in a queue, and will be processed in batches.

Qantas Frequent Flyer Tips + Travel advice!

Hey Matt, I originally thought it was only UK and France that you could score a Visa with, but obviously have since done some research into this. We settled on Germany as we thought it might be the more logical choice out of a few of the other European countries (i.e. Italy, Denmark, France...

Travel Insurance to Europe for 1 year

Yeh, just did up a quote with good2go. $580. That's quite cheap. Are there any dramatic differences between the likes of what STA, or Flightcentre, Covermore, etc. might provide? Could always ask for a price match as well for the same level product.

ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

In any case, I guess you're at no loss (unless you need the points ASAP) due to the $0 annual fee for the first year.

Travel Insurance to Europe for 1 year

Hi guys, Looking at heading over to Europe next year for up to a year. I've been looking around at travel insurance, but unsure as to what the best might be? All the ones I've look at come in around the $900 mark. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
