    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF104 Monday 15/4 delayed from a midday departure to 6:30am the following day. No contact from Qantas other than to let me know, had to organise additional accom myself etc. Plane also downgraded to A330. Anyone know why this has happened? And why they're still selling tickets to the original...

Why OH Y? [Y PAX using J lavatories]

So is the cost of $269 for a discount economy ticket vs $2000 for a business class ticket Perth to Sydney. Perhaps you should pay more attention to the entitlements of the ticket you bought, rather than worrying about others?

    Duplicate boarding pass

It was a lady and her 12year oldish daughter, and they had no status not even bronze (i saw her boarding pass when the FA was comparing mine and hers).

    Duplicate boarding pass

Recently I was travelling Sydney to Perth. My boarding pass was for 1A (I'd had the ticket and seat booked for about 7 months, and did online checkin when it opened). I boarded pretty early, and after about 10minutes a FA approached me and told me I was sitting in the wrong seat. I told her I...

Why OH Y? [Y PAX using J lavatories]

The issue is that you are valuing points as nothing. Points have value, and depending on the route it can be quite a swath of points. I don't get why people get so hung up on higher class cabins and think the advertised benefits of the higher class fares and the expectation of them being...

    A380 operating QF79 MEL-NRT on 21/10/19 [as a "Points Plane"]

They advertised it would start at 7am EST, I figured Qantas IT systems being as awesome as they are they may release it a bit early (or late), and I expected it would be snapped up fast, so I started checking at a quarter to 5 (7).

Why OH Y? [Y PAX using J lavatories]

I doubt that very much, sounds made up to me. I've rarely seen a flex Y ticket cost more than a sale J ticket. It matters when 20 people do it. It also matters more on long haul flights. Honestly couldn't care less on a 1 hour 737 hop. I can only remember it ever being particularly disturbing...

    A380 operating QF79 MEL-NRT on 21/10/19 [as a "Points Plane"]

It went live at approx 4:56am Perth time and I snagged a first class seat (which were sold out by 5:01am, with business class selling out by approx 5:08am. There's still economy and PE available as of 5:18am :P

Why OH Y? [Y PAX using J lavatories]

It's like therapy animals - for every genuine case of need there's 30 other people taking the piss and BSing the system. It's not about class divide, or ivory towers, it's about the freaking expensive ticket that promises you things, such as being able to use the toilets without queuing 8 deep...

    Upgrades with Qantas FF Points

If you're looking at upgrades out of Perth, try and always book an A330. If there's no U availability, then there are generally more seats available on the waitlist. That, and the 737's are small POS that are horrible for flying anywhere but Adelaide.

A tale of two children (in J)

Do your kids scream non stop or otherwise terrorise the cabin? If they do, can you explain to me how it is not a selfish attitude and disrespectful to all the other passengers (who are also paying). If they don't, then it's not really an issue is it? Everyone in a premium cabin is paying for it...

A tale of two children (in J)

Just because you don't want to spend 12 hours next to a screaming baby in F or J, doesn't mean you automatically want to spend 12 hours next to drunk or roudy idiot adults either. You can hate both. It's OK. Anyone being disruptive - screaming kids or drunk bogan adults or whatever - should be...

A tale of two children (in J)

I'm just talking about premium cabins J and F. Y is really just take whatever you get, though I still maintain having screaming-child-free zones in Y (like Scoot does) is best for everyone. The difference is Adults can be banned/arrested/abused if they're messing up, whereas you can't blame a...

A tale of two children (in J)

I don't care if children are in the cabin as long as they are well behaved. Most are, but some are not and if they are not behaving they should be removed from the cabin (or plane if they're really disruptive like that demon that made the news a few months back). Very young children and babies...

    Qantas 787 reviews J - Y+ and Y

I will say I am liking the 787 domestically. The extra customs hassle going into Melbourne can be annoying (Perth side is a breeze), but having access to PE is good alternative to business on a short flight (each flight has been only around 2hr50 to Mel.). Also access to the first lounge...

    Qantas 787 reviews J - Y+ and Y

I flew a couple of times in J on the new 787 (per - mel - per), including the first commercial flight on the 787 that will be doing the non stop run. Didn't feel any different to being on an a330, other than the windows and the cabin being quieter :) I wouldn't go out of my way to fly on it...
