    MH A350 familiarisation flights

I thoroughly enjoyed my F seat to and from PEN on the 7th and 8th Jan. It was comfortable and though narrower than I was expecting, it was such that I’m looking to fly MH to LHR in F later this year.

    Gift Cards at Supermarkets

The stock of $100 Only1 visa cards seems to be dwindling in WA WW stores too.

    Malaysia Airlines Problem

Malaysia swapped in the 737 for the flight to PER at the beginning of last week (8 May), and at the moment will continue for a period of 6 weeks.

    2017 F1 Thread

Even for all that he's done for F1 to bring it to where it is today, I think it was time for his monopoly to come to an end.

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

Forgot to mention just into month 3 of having the card.

    HSBC Platinum 60,000 $199 fee

Just checked my CC page and HSBC has noted the 60,000 point to be transferred to my QF account next sweep, even though I already had the no-fee HSBC CC for 18 months. Made the min spend in the first month.

    Oneworld partner bookings

For redemptions, I'm usually still transiting HK when I book so it is the HK number. My last seat request was for two CX flights booked under AY codes and I used the MPC Green/Silver/Gold line at 7:30am HK time and had only about a 5 minute wait until the call was answered. Spent longer on hold...

    Oneworld partner bookings

I always call in the early hours of the morning in Hong Kong. Never had an issue getting through to someone then.

Are most of you CX AM members or QFF members?

MPC Silver here. I prefer CX because a) they're cheaper than QF; b) QF only flights to SIN out of PER are limited; and c) at this moment in time, Asia Miles are a better prospect than QFF points. I think if you can definitely earn silver under the new rules, then go for it. J lounge access on...

    Qantas Gold/Platinum upgrades on Finnair

Economy comfort on Finnair is treated more like Main Cabin Extra on American, it's not classed as a Premium Economy product which is probably why as a Gold/Platinum you were able to select the seat free of charge.

What’s the best credit card for my situation?

I was in a similar situation to you last year. My advice is for your first credit card to apply for one with your bank if you have been with them a long time. I got declined for a Westpac Credit Card two years ago even though I was earning 20% more than when I applied for a credit card with HSBC...

    Great news, thanks Chris.

    Qantas Lounge Perth International Airport

After reading this, I logged into my MPC account and went into the flight info for my flight from PER in Dec and I've also noticed that there's no information about Lounges even from there. Also going to the CX Perth airport info directly, there isn't anything about a lounge there either. This...

    Qantas or Cathay

Not sure if OP is aware, but Marco Polo Gold is achieved after 90k miles (30k to Silver THEN another 60k to Gold). So it may be an idea to go with QF is this isn't achievable, although CX is still reasonably generous to their lower tier members.
