2 new ALL Accor hotels, opening Mel Airport precinct, near T4

Just saw the blurb on the ALL Accor website. Yes, its a fair walk from T1/T2 with bags, but now, there is a way of earning ALL points, and QFF points, at the same time. Ibis Select, and Novotel I think are opening in Jul this year. Out the back of T4, near the AFP and Customs area, past the...

Thought they were good, but IHG one is in fact, The Pits

Booked on their website, directly, for a hotel in Melbourne, approx $560 or so, the website promised 3000 IHG one points earnable. In the past, after the say, the hotel details were listed in past stays. Paid with $, so no points were used in this stay, past stays were fine, but this time, the...

Samsung smartphone, any one with NFC, wow: can even read my Myki balance

You or I in this case, never knew it could do that via NFC. If anyone has to upgrade their phones from 3g to 4g, or volte, pay a bit extra and get NFC, its the greatest. Not plugging the Samsung, in fact any phone, buy the NFC one.

Brad Banducci is leaving Woolworths, so do we need to be prepared for changes to Everyday Rewards?

They (WW) would have to find a new CEO, who could make changes to the EDR/WWR system. Time will tell. Same as the opposition VA CEO who is also departing. Hopefully/hope that we can still earn QFF rewards (indirectly) via EDR/WWR. Eyes open.

VoWifi, how I hate thee! Ok, maybe more apt for the tech part, but still, here it will stay, 3g shutdown, Jun 2024 for Telstra

Why cant modern mobile phones, just be a bit easy as past mobile phone systems were to use. A lot of the newer mobile phones, now have vowifi, ie voice over wifi. Muppetry, just have volte as standard, if mobile phone tower service providers want to get rid of 3g, ... If anyone has a 3g only...

Spend $1 get 5 Velocity Frequent Flyer points at Priceline

Via the estore, so have to log in and allow cookies, but just noticed, $1 spend = 5 VFF points. Now that a lot of the Coles Express fuels have gone (their footprint on the Aust map has dropped a lot), or changed to Caltex, maybe the next best (new to me news), is to buy my stuff from the estore...

    For Optus prepaid

QTMC card now won't go through. Try another payment method. Has money there in the card. Optus or QTMC card issue don't know. But a lot of places won't accept the QTMC card anymore, online anyways.

For those on VFF side of the fence, earning VFF points from FB (re Coles Express (former) fuel outlets

Have put this on Reddit too. Yes, their fuels are pricier than Liberty/X convenience, or costco fuels, but still... If you always go to your nearest fuel outlet lets say the former Coles Express, that got onsold to Viva, before you drive in... Make sure the outlet stays as Viva Energy. My nearer...

Acer Aspire: just bought, if anyone does buy one, or any Acer laptops

At first glance, when you open the box, you will not see a power lead or adapter. DO NOT throw out the box. Its very very very important, as in one of the protutions of the box, is the cord and adapter. I bought this new Acer laptop, no, its not (look at me) sort of pride, but needed one new...

Also, its back to showing type...

QTMC card: bpoint sms for security never arrives

Just a bit of blah. For South Aust colleagues, and if SA Ambulance renewal time comes around, don't use the QTMC to pay. On the SAAS website, it will put you to bpoint, where you need to enter the 6 digit code, but it never arrives. I have turned spam/unknown number blocking off, but still no...

For Telstra Prepaid colleagues: Looks like #100# is being disabled.

Used to be able to do #100# on prepaid. With 3g on Telstra being closed by Jun this year, so will #100#. There are other ways to do it, ie recharge, but I did like #100#. Granted lots of people do use Telstra postpaid.

Normal, run of the mill, QFd flight, ADL - MEL, 8.05am, then got the dreaded message, "You are checked in, please collect boarding pass at the airport". Wonder why. Will come back tomorrow morning and report on here. Flight is not linked to QFi.
