Personal Welcome from Qantas Customer Service Manager

Did LHR-BKK-SYD-AKL-WEL and WEL-SYD-SIN-LHR recently, and did not get any greetings, or requests.. Hmmm... not good .. /Jorgen

Q Flounge day spa .. complementary and all ..

Not so. I did get a 50 minute body massage flying Y, and only being a Platinum member .. this was a few weeks back in the SYD lounge. When talking to them, all options were open provided they had time .. They also told me that they called F-class passengers 1 day ahead and asked if they...

Q Flounge day spa .. complementary and all ..

No. These days I'm mostly flying Y or discount-Y... but just flaunted the platinum card, and they were very happy to oblige. In fact I was VERY impressed with the facilities as well as the girls' professionalism .. .. right now I am in transit in Heathrow (T4), and asked for the showers here...

Personal Welcome from Qantas Customer Service Manager

Agree... need to up the ante a bit.. just wonder how they would take it if you called them, introduced yourself as a Platinum card holder and then requested 'stuff'. Anyone tried that? Just getting shaving gear, tooth brush .. noise cancelling headphones would be great.. and even better getting...

Q Flounge day spa .. complementary and all ..

Just booked myself in for my first 50 minute full body massage in the Flounge in Sydney.. all complementary! Wow .. that's going to be a treat.. think I'll ask to transit through Sydney from here on, on International routes... :D:D:D ... crossing my fingers that'll be a good experience.. :p...

Personal Welcome from Qantas Customer Service Manager

Truth be told, I am quite disapointed with Qantas in this respect. Probably only on about 25% (if at all) do the CSM take the trip to ask how things are going and if there's anything they could assist with. The few that do are usually nice, but these days I rarely expect anything .. so not to be...

    Retaining Platinum

Yey; I got the email too.. though only 210 SC's to go, and have a return WEL-SYD-SIN-LHR-OSL to go tomorrow. Should get me close.. but not over the line .. Quite happy if it goes through; use it frequently to take showers at Changi.. and the First lounge in Sydney is awsome. /Jorgen

    New seats etc on 777-300ER

Awsome. This alone is a feature I will treasure... I hate the time spent in the air as it is such a waste. Especially when you're not able to work properly. Hence I am buying a new second laptop just to work while I am in the air; a Sony Vaio 11.1" w/extra long life battery. With all extras it...

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Correct! Our winter.. but I'm not a native OZzie .. as I am originally from Norway .. hence I love their winters! :) Good skiing .. and that's really something I miss! /Jorgen

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Agreed. My challenge is that my organizations travel agency plans all travels based on the corporate policy. Hence I can't really choose all the routes that I want. :) /Jorgen

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Ahhh! Ok... agreed, but it still binds you to travelling with either Sinagpore Airlines or Qantas.... sometimes that's not the case. Also when I was in Seoul recently I was flying Singapore Airlines .. but with with a QF ticket I would have been able to take my collegue into the lounge on my...

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Correct, but these days I am more often in locations where there are OneWorld lounges, and no QF lounges. Leaves me stranded... unless I am travelling on Singapore Airlines. Ideally the Platinum and Gold levels should grant you access to the lounges (QF & others) irrespective of you...

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Thanks! Not that I've enjoyed it all, but one things for sure... I'm going to use the perks. Actually the one thing that really annoys me with the QFF program (or most programs for that sake) is that you don't have free lounge access across the lounges everywhere you go... when you're not...

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Thanks! It's taken some doing, and I'm more often at the airport these days than in the office. Oh well, what do you do when you love what you do too much ... .. getting me broke as well, trying to buy off my guilty consience with my kids. Always bring them a little something... they deserve...

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Therapy is and will be required, that's for sure. I consider any massage a good therapy and hence try to get that done every now and then. :) BodyTune in Bangkok is good .. and it's a respectable establishment too.. :) 590 baht for a good 1.5 hour Thai massage, and 790 for 2+ hours, if my memory...

What a sad life; platinum on Qantas and Elite Gold on Singapore Air ..

Oh well, another sad chapter have come. Now have platinum on Qantas and Eltie Gold on Singapore Airlines. All on economy over the last 7-8 months. Quite a feat. Oh well .. got to consider doing some changes from now on... /Jorgen

Spore vs United vs Qantas ..

Yep. It was Y class. Standard economy. Yeah. I agree. However, I tend to acrue points to use them for family hols rather than standard upgrades. Hence, I worry more about what the standard Y class can provide as such. On rare occasions I get upgrades though, but .. since we've switched from...

Spore vs United vs Qantas ..

Hey .. just my subjective feeling after flying a few legs over the last month with Qantas, Singapore and United. Singapore Air has by far been the most pleasurable experience. Qantas second, but United.. OMG, that was cough. Flew MEL-SYD-LAX-IAD-LAX-SYD-MEL, and it was overcrowded, small, no VOD...
