Qantas Staff Incompetence - Ticketed 2 adults and not infant, leading to denied boarding

I will ask about the tie - but it wasn't the first person, they asked for a manager and he spoke to them. I didn't include that in the initial post as I was trying to keep it as short as possible. 1712386775 The booking showed all three pax, but they didn't check the ticket, which after we...

Qantas Staff Incompetence - Ticketed 2 adults and not infant, leading to denied boarding

Hi All, Qantas incompetence has reared its ugly head again. My brother, his wife and infant son booked a flight on Malaysia Airlines in J through QFF awards. When they showed up, they told them the infant was not ticketed, and were denied boarding. At the check in, the agent said to my...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I think this hits the nail on the head. Again, my belief is eventually, C+ will be the only award seats available. And based on simple maths - it just isn't worth it. I'd also like to add that QF J/F flights are more expensive than most. Etihad and QR have a better J product, often at a...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Ummmm money? That's why. And if that doesn't convince you, precedent. Every airline that introduces a new tier has effectively gutted their 'saver' award seats. Look at the US, Canada and even SQ closer to home. This will make Qantas a ton more money and so that's why they do it. Firstly, the...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

'Classic CRs' are extremely hard to come by. The leaks show that the new tier will be priced at a point which is out of reach for many. The prediction of myself and many others is that those 'Classic CRs' will dwindle even more to a point where it is impossible to find them. 1712138787 Spot on.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I'd love for that to be true, but I actually believe CRs will soon be completely phased out and this is the first step in that process. QF has for a few years now only thought about the bottom line - unfortunately Vanessa Hudson seems to be worse than Joyce in that regard.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I'm struggling to see how anyone sees this change as anything but horrible news unless you're earning millions of points per year? Assuming that Classic+ rewards may be redeemable with no added taxes/fees/surcharges and being based on 'sale fares' (two massive assumptions), we are looking at...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I apologise I have no idea how the AA program works, but from a purely flying perspective and being based primarily in Aus, how would getting OWE through AA be easier? The only reason I ask is because I've had a look at Iberia, QR, BAEC and QF - and QF seems to be the easiest due to: 1...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Couldn't agree more. Although, I feel like there is no hope. QF just don't care about the customer. They have been found out and have been publicly called out - but nothing will change IMO.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

Well the rates for 'classic awards' system isn't changing, but its very likely that the number of seats available will decrease. The reason I (and possibly others here) believe there will be a massive devaluation is that the new 'product/tier) will provide more availability at much higher...

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

I think it seems almost certain that it will be multi-tiered rewards similar to that of SQ KF, which in essence means a devaluation. QF FF doesn't release many premium seats as it is, and F is nearly impossible to get. This will mean that premium seats at the current classic rewards rates will...

SQ First MEL Lounge, Private Room Menu and Suites

Thanks for the review! You mentioned that you basically had a bed from 1 am to 7 am even though the lounge was closed from 2.30 - 5.30 am? I have a layover from midnight till 12pm soon (flying in F) - do you think I would be able to get a room with bed throughout the hours when the lounge is...

Lounge Access twice in a Day

Hi All, I land into Sydney Airport soon early in the morning from LHR (7am) and have a Virgin Australia flight to Melbourne at 6 pm on the same day on a different ticket. I have to go into Sydney for a couple of hours for a meeting before my MEL flight. Would I be allowed to use the VA...

Hilton Diamond through Velocity Platinum status

Where are you seeing the validity? Because with HH, this doesn't seem to be something easy to find. In any case, if you got HH Diamond now, it should be valid till end of March 2025.

Hilton Diamond through Velocity Platinum status

Fair enough - keen to know how you get along. I've got till Jan to figure out what I'll need to do.

Hilton Diamond through Velocity Platinum status

I'm in a similar position. I will be Hilton Diamond till March 2024, but my VA platinum membership ends in Feb 2024, so not sure if this is an issue?

    Credit Card for non-residents

Hi All, Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread or this has been discussed/asked. I'm an Australian living in the UK - are there any Aussie credit cards (with bonuses) at all I'm eligible to apply for? I have an Australian licence and Australian address. Cheers.

    QR MEL Check in Times

I'd have to completely agree with you re CDG - without a doubt one of the very worst airports in the world.
