Centurion annual fee increase from 5K to 6.5K

Downgraded through the pandemic due to travel restrictions and upgraded again afterwards just to get the extra benefits. Better hotel membership levels etc. Not a huge difference but if you travel a lot and spend a lot it adds up.

Centurion annual fee increase from 5K to 6.5K

I just dropped down to the plat myself. They keep devaluing it. They dropped AFR for Australian as well which was a disappointment. Now even the titanium cards are being replaced with cheap metal ones. Yet they increase the fee. I know another person dropped to plat through the pandemic and then...

    What is Qantas playing at?

This is exactly why I will never fly Qantas. Can't stand them or their CEO.

Centurion annual fee increase from 5K to 6.5K

Before the 'vid, I was getting twice the value of the card fee in travel benefits/upgrades etc. But obviously that has been hard to do last few years. Had some free hotel stays that's about it.

Centurion annual fee increase from 5K to 6.5K

The wearable is a good idea, but the new cards are cough quality. Tell your RM and keep your titanium as long as you can.

    New Amex Centurion Cards

Yes, I recommend keeping the titanium as long as you can and hopefully they see sense if enough people complain. Mine doesn't expire for a few years yet, thankfully.

    New Amex Centurion Cards

So there has been a recent press release for all the "new" features for Centurion. The majority are just benefits they removed previously, covid etc, with a timely release along with the considerable increase in yearly card cost (5k to 6.5k) that apparently has been held back for a year or two...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Yep, so people complaining about not having dates know why they will never give one until they actually have to open the borders.

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

A few edge cases? The government are dreaming of they think they'll get over 70% vaccinated. Especially when State and Federal Governments are sending conflicted messages. They are using people's lives as a political football. The question is which party will make opening the borders an...

    Centurion Payments

I do the multi-card payment thing all the time with the online portal or app. I have all the supps are linked to the same account and you can only use each card once in 76 hours. So it you have 6 cards on your account you can make 6 payments. Having said that I've not attempted over $100k in one...

Lazy Business Couch? No thank you...

I would not pay business fares for those seats. If you want to have a chat with someone, you can go to the bar!

Lazy Business Couch? No thank you...

I read about these the other day: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-6927007/amp/Airbus-reveals-new-couch-style-plane-seat-business-class-cabins.html I couldn't think of anything worse in Business. Worst of both worlds in my opinion. I wouldn't be able to lie flat, nor have...

    2015 Amex Centurion Benefits

I thought I responded to this but seems it vanished. I'm in the process of streamlining my cards at the moment, so will look into a few other options. I assume it's the same process? ANZ Rewards >> FF ? I don't fly Qantas really, so the rewards one would be better... edit: I think it's the new...

    Virgin Platinum Pointless?

I've never had an issue booking row 3 with SG. Maybe I've been lucky with flights but the only time I've been further back is when I've booked really late.

    Virgin Platinum Pointless?

Yep, all mine reset eventually. They do take a month or so to review it. I was still using my platinum card 4 weeks after as I hadn't received my gold one yet.

    2015 Amex Centurion Benefits

I got this too. If you email them, they will send you all the details. I already pay my tax using my Plat card. To be honest, I care more about the points because they can be transferred to any FF and then used for upgrades when going overseas. I caught the Malaysia Air deal for LON-AUS return...

    Virgin Platinum Pointless?

So after having WP for a year (just dropped to SG) here are my thoughts: Row 3 - I got this just as much with SG, no noticeable difference Etihad First Abu Dhabi - This was considerably better than the business lounge. Far less busy, with one in T1 and T3, and both have a creche. The lovely...

    Virgin Platinum Pointless?

Was that flying alone or with company? I figured it would be less likely traveling with someone? More points will be good though, to keep funding tickets/upgrades.

    Virgin Platinum Pointless?

Yes I haven't flown for status that's for sure, that would be a bit pointless, generally work or holidays but I work for myself so it's a cost to myself rather than another company. Of course I'm sure I'll use the upgrades one way or another, but it would just be for the sake of using them...

    Virgin Platinum Pointless?

Yeah I've had a look at the reward seat options. The problem with that is if you don't book early they are all gone, at least when I've looked. I can't always book my holidays that far ahead due to work and not knowing where I'll be. I suppose I'll have to try and figure that out and look at...
