    What's the introductory upgrade me $ figure for a MEL - PER flight

    I have a MEL->PER coming up (as part of a of LAX->PER booking), minimum bid offer is $300. Consistent with what I've seen before, but they do seem to vary from flight to flight for some reason only known to Virgin (or could be my bad memory). I've never seen a minimum offer change for the same...

    Load Factors on BNE to Perth

    Out of curiousity I tried booking a flight for tomorrow night (without confirming of course).. plane's mostly empty. Don't know if that helps. Why not try the same though, just trial book the flights that you'd typically take and see how it looks?

    Earn 50,000 bonus Velocity Points and 150 Status Credits with Velocity Platinum Amex

    Re: Earn 50,000 bonus Velocity Points and 150 Status Credits with Velocity Platinum A Not sure when they changed eligible flights, but your $350/pa fee only gets you a regional flight if you're in WA now. Quite annoying as I checked it right before signing up last month and it would have got...

    Status run ex Perth

    That's a lot of SCs.. I'm -guessing- your best bet is PER<->CNS in flexi (140pts for $820 odd) and then east coast hops to make up the 120 whilst you're there, but I'm interested to see what people have to say. For the record if you're ever short just a few PER<->BQB (Busselton) in flexi is...

    Virgin Happy Hour [Thursdays]

    re: Happy Hour returns Daylight savings doesn't make any sense whatsoever in the tropics, of which a large part of Queensland is. Same story with northern WA and the NT. It's for people nearer the poles.

    What just happened to the pricing?

    4 days later the flights are now $348 return, down from $496. Sale ends 26th. Virgin's volatility's a bit annoying, but booking now anyway. Guess the key is just to never purchase off-sale if you can help it..

    What just happened to the pricing?

    That makes sense, thank you. Virgin does seem to be the Dell of the flight world to me - without the right sales period or coupon codes you don't get such a good deal. I'll wait for now, see what comes up.

    What just happened to the pricing?

    A few days ago Virgin was doing PER<->MEL in May for $386 or so (Saver Lite), a price I thought was pretty typical when not booking at short notice. If it was a sale, I didn't see it advertised. Now the exact same flights are $496, just a few dollars cheaper than Qantas for virtually any dates...

    Flexi PER->MEL->CNS cheaper than PER->MEL

    Thanks, I'll let him know.

    Flexi PER->MEL->CNS cheaper than PER->MEL

    So quick question... beside from fewer choice of flights, what's the consequence of travelling carry-on only and throwing away the second half of the ticket? Also do you still get the SCs/miles from the first half of the flight, or are all lost? Friend of mine wants to know. Regards :)

    Double VFF Points (or SCs), April-June 2014

    Quick question, if I book flexis now flying between those dates.. and change them in a couple of weeks when I know exactly when I can travel, will I still get the DSC? EDIT: Phoned and asked, you get the DSC even if you change the flights after this deal ends, provided it's within the dates...

    Double VFF Points (or SCs), April-June 2014

    I'd just discovered that one for myself, reverse situation. $820 return odd, $2.93/SC, through either BNE or SYD. I just wish there was some way to get a long enough lay over to leave the airport for just a bit.. but the moment you try and break up the flights the flexi cost doubles. Shame.

    Virgin's 737s SYD->PER

    Makes sense, that was my guess. Anyway, as expected no luck changing for < $230 odd. To me, a bit of a missed opportunity there for Virgin - if you have a sold out plane, it makes sense to me to offer minimal ($35 admin) or zero charge changes to same fare class on same day flights, freeing up...

    Virgin's 737s SYD->PER

    markis10, whilst that would make sense, the 737 is flying VA565 every single day through to the 17th of March. I'd link flightmapper, but the forum won't yet let me. Also the fact that every single seat had sold a week out from departure would indicate to me that Virgin's misjudged the demand...

    Virgin's 737s SYD->PER

    This flight will get me to Silver, so hardly any status. I'll try my luck on the phone tomorrow, my mic dropped out last time with the lady asking me to call back. I won't hold my breath though. EDIT: We have been moved by VA, we have different seats to what I'd messaged my friend at booking...

    Virgin's 737s SYD->PER

    I was just thinking about the seat map (thanks for pointing out flight details), I'm surprised I didn't notice that the seat layout wasn't 2-4-2, particularly as the outgoing would have been. We booked these seats 6 months ago, is it possible that they've changed the aircraft since then? We're...

    Virgin's 737s SYD->PER

    Hi all, I'm not sure if this is general knowledge or not, but it seems Virgin's running 737s on VA 565 SYD->PER at the moment. I'm currently booked on the completely sold out flight 3rd March flight, with the last seats going for $1200+ a ticket when I checked earlier today. I'm rather...

    UpgradeMe pricing and success

    Yeh, min was $350 each way for Feb/Mar. I rather stupidly ticked it up to a "Good" bid ($400) - on hindsight I should have checked and seen that J is mostly empty and just gone with min bid, probably would have got it. System still hasn't retried my card, wondering if they will 48hrs before...

    UpgradeMe pricing and success

    Placed a $400 bid on PER -> SYD for a couple of passengers (in retrospect should have gone with the $350 min), 3 days out received an email that my bank declined payment. Moved some money between accounts, hit the email option to resubmit my application and it says "we'll get back to you"...
