Etihad First Class Lounge Access Velocity Platinum 2019

As of a fortnight ago it did on my way through to LHR. I was worried that it didn't as the Velocity website for international lounge access isn't as clear on this issue as it used to be.

Interesting pricing [Award sale - book 'til 28/2, travel 15/3/18 to 9/1/19]

This will be all I can hope for - there is nothing, in particular the things that I have looked for and the combinations I've thought of. Switching this/that and the other do nothing. 'Pricing' all looks the same to me, whether in pts or $. Congrats to those who managed to take advantage of it...

Feedback on new 'beta' member portal

The best way to search across (a week) is via the app - at least on android. I use that first for availability, then confirm and book via the website. The most annoying thing for me is that you can't access the seat map directly which was handy for working out what configuration aircraft was...

    First Class Etihad Vs SQ

    1. Unfortunately if you want to do a stopover in Abu Dhabi, it can't be on the same ticket, hence why VA quoted you such a high (point) cost. 2. You only get a stopover on SQ awards if you do a return - though in saying that, I think you can pay $100 (not sure what currency) to pay for a single...

    Suites savers now available

My gut tells me you can't book children (i.e. < 2 yo) as rewards, but I'd be very happy to be corrected.

Frequent travellers please - LHR to JFK on AA107 reliability?

You can check FlightAware which tracks a lot of flights and records the arrival time for the past fortnight at least. Won't be a score out of 10, but it's not bad. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAL107

Award Seats vs. Upgrade with Points

Depending on your flexibility, you may be able to travel via Asia or NZ. Remember that AMEX MR transfer to AirNZ, Asia Miles, Etihad, Malaysia, Singapore and Thai. With some creative work, you may well find something last minute that has the flexibility to upgrade - unfortunately would take some...

The Master SQ Guide (Krisflyer, Waitlists & Waitlists Clearing)

Re: Waitlist? What does this mean? Allows you to book the leg with first class in first and the leg in business in business on the one ticket. It usually costs the full first saver reward value, but everything is linked. Ask nicely and you will also get the 15% discount as it couldn't be...

Velocity Platinum Requesting Row 3 For Travelers On Separate Bookings

I had no trouble doing it in April - and the other ticket was three people on an award. No questions asked - maybe I got lucky

    Travel insurance

A very useful analysis of the two cards. My only query would be whether most peoples justification for having a particular credit card is not related to the benefit of 'free' travel insurance but other things like a 'free' flight, points, or just in general, it being handy having a credit card...

Cant find any Velocity reward seats to Europe?

Maybe it's a miracle or VFF was watching the thread, because some availability now appears. Every date I tried in April, September and August hadn't worked!

    Moving overseas with Amex

The US AMEX website provides a portal for this to occur so hopefully this provides enough information to help with the move. https://www.americanexpress.com/global-card-transfers/united-states.html Most countries have a similar service (including into Australia).

Linking a Dom sector to an Int booking

I often find that at check-in at the airport they can book the luggage all the way through on two tickets, but I wouldn't say that is always. I assume given your location that you are undertaking a domestic CBR-MEL route? The only thing I would say with that respect, is that Virgin CBR can only...

    AMEX Travel and fare class

I'm pretty sure that on occasions it will show other fare classes in the higher priced fares, but maybe that is just a fluke and is dependent on airline (I tend to fly SQ and VA). Otherwise, you can always call them to see if they can see the other fare classes?
