I've been able to book Dubai Connect so will see how that goes. I've read some stories on here where people haven't been able to find the gate properly etc so hopefully I'll have all the instructions down pat before we leave to ensure a smooth transition.

I seem to remember a few years ago it took about 15 minutes to clear security there, didn't help that everyone had to take their shoes off. Seems to always slow things down.

Thanks for that. Good point re the cleaning and turn around time involved. Just had confirmed from Qantas that the transit time is 2 hours and 5 mins so there should be plenty of time assuming its all on schedule. I may ask if there are any express pass options at checkin?

If QF9 is late leaving Melbourne (11:25pm) what tends to happen in DXB? Is there reliably enough time to get to the Emirates business lounge and use the showers, freshen up etc? Also any tips and tricks to get to the Emirates lounge quickly?

Quite possibly. I'll have to check up if there is limits on the size of case you can scan through. Its only a medium sized case. Anyone know the restrictions for size of case you can take into domestic terminal?

Hi All, I'll be flying in from Geneva to Dubai in Jan, flight gets in around midnight, but my connection flying back to Mel doesn't leave for another 10 hours. I see that the lounge is open 24/7 there, and its on a Qantas ticket, so should have no troubles getting in with my Qantas Club...

I also find the emails to be inconsistent. I did an apple purchase last week and didn't get any email, it was substantial so hoping the points are credited properly. I've used it for a fair bit of my online shopping and usually works well.
