The problem is the loophole where the purchases have not yet appeared on a statement, they may apply the payment to the purchases, but I don't see that they have to do so in the above conditions.

It's probably more that it sounds like you get more value. 1.5 points sounds like more than 1 point, even though the points are worth less... It's consumer psychology

I had this same error, but a couple of weeks later the priority pass pack arrived for my supp card holder, I think maybe it submits it twice when you click? Just wait and see what happens.

I wouldn't be so quick to knock gift cards. Getting gift cards direct from citi works out at about 0.82 c return per $ spent, but often they have promotions - I got some prepaid visa cards at 1c/$. Whereas for virgin flights I've done some quick calculations and get values from 0.68 to 1.2 c/$...

The zero card is basically the 28 degrees card with a more generous credit limit and some handy insurance.
