Places you would, or wouldn't go back to?

Yeah. Lord Howe is one amazing place. Went 5 years ago on a friends recommendation and seem to go back every year. Haven't heard a negative report. Going again in April. Can't wait. Great beaches, hikes, bikes, animals, coral, scenery, views, people, I do go on..

Places you would, or wouldn't go back to?

Agree totally with Italy. Went twice last year walking in the Dolomites and the Ligurian coast. Thoroughly recommended. Also going back to Croatia this year as my last visit was fantastic. Dubrovnik and the Croatian Islands. In fact all of Croatia.I have had the opposite experience with China. I...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

For my Christmas, Krug, Fleetwood Mac and 2 tickets to the first day of the 3rd test in Sydney. At least it wasn't any of the other days! This is quite an 'upgrade' in loyalty goodies. After over 5,000 SCs this year, maybe it means some degree of recognition of QF loyalty. Much appreciated.

For those who have been comped status

Re: Anyone ever had their level retained even if not achieving required SCs ? Being WP1 for nearly 3 years, I missed a bit of flying last year and easily made well over 2,700 QF SCs but missed out on the magic 3600 by about a little over 200 SCs (on OW partners). I thought QF would go easy as I...

Honestly, what is the point of Platinum One?

Tripin ... You have summarised the situation better than I could ever do. I would seriously hope Red Roo is monitoring this thread....

Honestly, what is the point of Platinum One?

Really, the topic of this thread is absolutely on the ball. I think the difference between WP and WP1 is the '1' on the end (which is easy to overlook) A few things that I have noticed... One World Emerald does not have a OWE1 thus WP and WP1 are the same status despite the massive SC...

Honestly, what is the point of Platinum One?

I would have absolutely no problem with that though the occupants didn't look like the type of people who may have a CPAP/ sleep apnoea. Our friends in 12 didn't note a CPAP machine. They thought we had been op-uped downstairs!

Honestly, what is the point of Platinum One?

Recent example: QF2 LHR-SYD via DXB. Me (P1) and SWMBO (SG) get turfed out of our pre-selected seats (11J and K) mid journey on reboarding in DXB. Got the coughpy seats in 15 next to the kitchen. On arriving at our seats at 15, the occupants were told their seats were now 11Jand K! My friends...

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

This thread reminds me of a time 2 yrs ago when flying F on a 747, I noted Bryan Brown in the seat in front. I was woken by the CSM stating she recognised me as a medico and I was needed on the flight deck for a sick first officer. She said the only other doctor on the flight was a vet, which...

QF WP and WP1. Where are you?

The CSM on 108 (23/11) said there were 17 WPs (incl. Wp1s) on the flight. Seemed a little overwhelmed and no greetings. Considering guesting, may explain the crowd in the Flounge.
