Well Singapore is a larger and extremely well respected airline known for consistent and efficient service - not really surprising. Qantas is fine for what it is (a mid sized national carrier) but I'd never choose Qantas over Singapore in any class if given the choice.

As someone who has experience in a reward booking service I don't think people will be too willing to accept the fact that the 2 major partner airlines offering routes to Europe are no longer an option. Many will leave QFF behind and focus on other programs.

100% fine - had a successful claim 2 weeks ago on my Platinum. Departure and Return tickets were reward flights booked separately and just paid the taxes on my card. Also doesn't matter if the points for the reward flights come from the Amex transfer or another source.

Surely it is a glitch as you simply can't search - I can't imagine a fellow One World airline literally pulling every possible reward seat from Qantas (including economy)....the seats are still available to search and redeem on other partner airlines such as BA & AA.

Never seen more than 1 award seat so probably Mission Impossible.

That was my point.... I did a search a while back and found a grand total of one seat available for the following 6 months - they get snapped up immediately if released. Remember you are competing against thousands and thousands of people setting seat alerts, monitoring websites etc etc.

Due to it being a mileage 'sweet-spot' this route is super popular with point hackers and widely advertised on blogs etc so can be very competitive i.e. difficult to book!

I'm thinking (hoping) it's just a Qantas website error......which is pretty standard! Was working fine last night around 7pm but re-checked about 9 and errors ever since as soon as Doha is included in any search....

My experience has always been basically an immediate refund of points.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the Plaza Premium at BNE is currently only open for a grand total of 3 hours a day from 8-11pm. Hopefully that changes by October for you!

Look i'm not sure if i'll ever actually visit TPR to validate my thoughts (I was impressed by the new Silver Lounge on a few recent visits!) but it does seem a strange choice that the 'lesser' lounges get the better views.

3 of the 4 daily BNE flights use the Regional Business Class seats so although modern they are quite different in design to the larger and wider seats on the A380. It's ultimately a personal preference but the vast majority of people (including myself) prefer the long haul a350 and a380 seats.
