I feel your pain. I am not sure how the hold system works for Qantas (or for any other airline for that matter). Quite often I call and while on hold, I call the same line on another phone and get through quicker on the second call. Go figure!

I hope this was just a once off and not a sign of the times. I remember in the early 2000's you used to be able to get sparkling on a busted cough QantasLink jet from CNS to Horn Island! ....And they only had one class of seat (not including the toilet seat).

I passed through on my way back into Brissie recently to find the Smart Gate queue was longer than normal queue! It also seemed like no one knew what they were doing. It was less 'smart gate' and more 'sheep gate'. Oh well, at least those people will be quicker next time.... :/
