Just checked with QF and they tell me that on my planned return from New York on 12th Feb, both flights from LAX are "old style" so bucket seats in C. Needless to say no upgrades available. Am assuming I dont really have a choice but any suggestions / views on United?

Interestingly, I'm off to London tomorrow, back on Tues and my upgrades to first have come through both ways. Although I always request an upgrade, I've never got it both ways before and I'd guess >60% of the time it doesnt come through at all. I wonder if its just a quiet time of year or...

Discounted BA bus class I've seen BA club for 20% off, or around $6,500 to LHR and back but never 70% off (or in fact for less than $6k). Have to take the whole family back in march and currently in world traveller plus, so any tips on that sort of discount in club would be worth having!
