Check In Staff at Darwin advised me that the Lounge will now open March/April 2015.

Thanks for the update bullerdude. Its frustrating as a Darwin Resident only having access to the Lounge on a return leg. Refused to take Lounge Membership until I reached Gold and got it for free. Couldnt see the point in paying Full Price for 50% Benefit.

I am currently in the Delta Sky Lounge in Orlando. Had no trouble gaining entry. Staff very friendly and it's very relaxing lounge. Next stop LAX, will check out the Delta lounge there.

Haven't had an issue the last 12 months as Platinum.

No , I live in Darwin and the service Qantas offers here is not as good as Virgin Australia.

Its certainly worth $190 for Complimentary Membership to the Lounge which is $300 a year for Silver.

Construction has commenced on the Terminal Extension with the Virgin Lounge reportedly due to open in the 2nd half of 2014.

The same thing happened to me last year and the situation was rectified when I rang Customer Service.

I was going to sign up for this until I discovered that the complimentary virgin return flight does not include my home city of Darwin.:(
