It could have been, but not 100% sure.

Flight cancellations and poorly trained call centre staff

Update - after speaking with someone in the customer care team and explaining what had happened, they agreed it was not a voluntary change and refunded the difference in tax and points. They commented that it was a pretty simple thing to do, and should not have required me spending 90 mins on...

Flight cancellations and poorly trained call centre staff

Thank you both for your replies. I am a Gold level FF. I can understand if the wait times for calls to be answered are long - but my call was actually answered after 2 minutes. However taking 90 minutes to change a flight is next level ridiculous. @henrus - yeah, I've been reading the...

Flight cancellations and poorly trained call centre staff

Hi All Is anyone else having issues with flight itineraries continuously being cancelled or affected by schedule changes? Of course, I know that Covid right now will be affecting flights, but I have just had one of the most frustrating calls with Qantas. An upcoming trip to Tassie for late...

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

When I called just after 9am, the callback service was available. I received a call back in just over an hour

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

They told me anyone cancelling a reward up to the applicable dates, will have the 6000 points refunded. They said it was a manual process and expect to wait 1-2 weeks

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

this is good info. However on their website, they do not differentiate between paid and points bookings. They simply say to select cancel and then voucher. The voucher option isn’t there for points bookings and it goes straight on to cancel the ticket. This caught me by surprise as I’m sure it...

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

this may be the case - but on the Qantas website where it says tickets can be cancelled without fees and a voucher will be issued - it doesn’t specify that this does not apply to reward bookings.

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

I can confirm that the cancellation went through today and I was refunded, but I was charged the 6,000 point cancellation fee. Therefore it was not fee free.

Thanks for this. I looked at the info on Qantas.com and couldnt see this anywhere!

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

I had a booking and cancelled today - this was a classic reward booking. However, it did not even give me the option to choose 'voucher' as per the Qantas instructions and there were no other instructions on how classic flight rewards would work. Does anyone have any info on this?

Do classic flight rewards hold any value now?

To clarify, I am just looking at Y. It wasn't coming up at 120K though - was coming at 150K for classic rewards

Do classic flight rewards hold any value now?

Hi Everyone Planning to go back to the UK in June or July so thought I'd check out what's on offer with classic rewards as well as points plus pay. Normally, I never look at the points plus pay as classic rewards work out better value in points, even with the high taxes contained within a...

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

To be honest, using the OWE tool online, when substituting London for Paris so going BER-CDG (via LON) and then CDG-LIM - it only saved around $50 AUD on taxes and surcharges. If the OWE is the one to be trusted and not ITA?

Thanks Jeff, I love Paris anyway so good excuse to stop there. Thanks Danger - I'm purposely stopping in Lima as I'm off to do the Inca Trail :)

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

Just another quick question for the brains - is the availability of the award tickets on the other OW airlines super limited as well (just as with QF)? I ask because I have researched these flights using the OWE tool online, but in the QF multi city search, some of them (such as the SYD - NRT...

"oneworld" award (132.4K/249.6K/318K/455K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

Ah I didn't realise, great tip. I'll go straight to Lon rather than via HEL. Is it worth departing CDG though as mentioned above to save the huge departure tax?

Hi All So I'm making progress with planning my trip for next year in Feb/Mar/April - doing the 280K business award. I'm trying as much to minimise the fuel surcharges and excessive taxes flying JAL and Finnair - avoiding BA, Iberia and QR. Unfortunately I cannot avoid going to London as I'm...
