linking separate bookings -- will I be able to select better seats for my partner?

Re: linking separate bookings -- will I be able to select better seats for my partner A quick phone call to the Service Desk sorts it quite quickly. Have both PNR, and look where you would like your partner sitting before hand. They can effect it, and without charge on the international legs.

    Qf108 jfk-lax

I am of the understanding that Qantas does not have traffic rights between JFK and LAX only, all passesgers must connect through out of the USA...

What do Qantas crew know about you?

They can see when you hit your last Status milestone. While on a status run, comment was made that I had hit SG on a recent(ish) flight from DXB - I had just hit WP the flight before (but it had not yet posted of course).

    Roos at CBR

I work for the Ambulance Service in WA, and we often have to task the volunteers in the country to do a "roo run" and clear the roos (or cows actually) off the airstrip before the RFDS land- would be a sight for them!

Cheaper buying Qantas fares than using points, frustrating....

Yes, was quoted that for a U class award redemption - it should not be different for the different fare classes as far as I am aware

Cheaper buying Qantas fares than using points, frustrating....

I know it's expensive, but I was quoted $853.96 return SYD-LAX-SYD for a classic redemption. Doesn't really compare to a from ~$7400 fare but!

    Question for PER T2 & 3

Qantas domestic (T4) and Virgin "big jets" (T3) are connected, so once you clear security you are good to go. T2 however is on the other side of the runway, and is used mostly for the regional flights (except Qantas)

    First attempt of ASA booking

To get the points cost down, you pay some in cash. This will reduce the point component of the fare, and you can get it about to the same Classic Award level. As for your other queries, I shall leave them to the brains trust

AA/US merger, SC credits for US post 31Mar2014

Until QF add US to the Airline Earning Table, there is no word on which fares or booking classes will earn points or SC. So it's a case of "wait and see"

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's? Brilliant. Decided to snap up a cheap PER-SYD return fare, and do a status run while I am there. So this Australia Day I am flying SYD-xBNE-TSV return, and should secure me WP (depending at what rate I get credited SC for...

    Howdy

Why Hello, 12 months ago I took a JASA to Sydney, and life kind of fell apart then... By the end of the year I was taking flights on my 4 days off (love my shift pattern) to get the last few SC needed to maintain PS! Oh the lofty heights!!! A QP membership was scored on a good deal, in the...
