    upgrade vs redemption (long haul)

Upgrades and Redemption seats both come from the same Z - Business Reward fare bucket. Availability until date of departure is only based on the fare bucket. The ground staff may be able to offer more at time of departure. Remember there are a number of ways to upgrade and some methods are...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA business class has always had sparkling water since day 1 on all flights. Responding with a red or white wine comment meanwhile is very average.

Amenity kits are back Coast to Coast

Amenity kits never have been taken off the Transcontinental flights. If you ask you shall receive. They are only proactively offered on red eyes but always onboard and available. ;) The Transcontinental amenity kits are not the long haul ones.

    Perth T2 - Under review

Forgot to add many charter flights wouldn't be able to use Terminal 1 as they are coming in from non-screened ports. Terminal 1 does not have a proper exit channel for non-screened flights.

    Perth T2 - Under review

I have heard that all RPT services will be leaving from Terminal 1. All charter/non-RPT services will be at Terminal 2. Will be interesting to see what ends up happening and when.

Duty free LAX -> SYD -> MEL

You can just bring it on as carry on baggage in the bags you get when you buy it. Does not need to be the sealed duty free bags as you aren't going internationally anywhere else. The only time you will have a problem is if you have over 5L of alcohol per person. Dangerous Goods regulations only...

Queuing for the priority queue? What the?

That would have been another ground staff member as Virgin does not have the Cabin Crew board the flight at the gate. I know both Jetstar and Qantas have Cabin Crew do the boarding, not sure about Tiger.

VA irrops due to Sydney weather- shabby treatment

I wonder if this means if you are actually away from your home or if you need to be in transit. Would be interesting to see whether the conditions of carriage or the customer charter wins. Very weird that there would be such a conflict.

VA irrops due to Sydney weather- shabby treatment

Mattg, Most, if not all, airlines will not cover accomodation for situations out of their control such as weather. The only exemption to this is if you are in transit. If you are in transit then accomodation, transport and meal allowances are provided. Virgin do state of their website that...

Different Treatment as an Upgrade Customer

From what I've been told if you end up in Business Class within 3 hours of the flight - fly forward, upgrade or buy a ticket - Virgin does not assure catering. The cabin crew get a list with a code that says who has been issued the full catering not assured tag. Usually the lounge puts a...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Champagne is only on flights to DPS and then the Coast to Coast (PER-BNE/MEL/SYD) vice-versa.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

737 Transcon services still use the business class tray but do also have the linen tablecloth. The entree and main are served on the tray. Once the main is finished the crew take the tray away and your choice of dessert/cheese is placed straight on to the tablecloth.

Compensation from A330 to B737 downgauge in J

You will find a lot of Transcon flights are now 737. Many have been downgraded with 2 months+ notice. The ground staff don't know it's a downgrade unless it happens within 48 hours of the flight. I would certainly lodge a claim for some compensation if you have a ticket that says you are on...

B77W Business Class Seat Map - Updated!

Ever since the start there has always been a seat topper for the seats. A while back (18 months?) it was changed to memory foam which certainly improved the comfort of the seat/bed. Now with the refurb there are 2 pillows that domestic red eye business class A330 guests have become accustomed...

Upgrading or adding baggage to a 'seat' flight

Trans Tasman can only upgrade using points from a Flexi fare. I do not believe Premium Bid applies to Seat fares. Seat fares on Trans Tasman can purchase one bag for $25 and another second bag for another $55. Some of the conditions for upgrades may not have been updated since the recent...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Depending on the flight time some meals are pre-plated and cooked meanwhile others are plated. These two comparisons show one meal that is pre-plated and cooked in the bowl meanwhile yours was cooked all seperate and plated by the crew onboard. I hope that explains the difference you can see :)

B77W Business Class Seat Map - Updated!

Absolutely. The Business Class suites have the memory foam mattress and duvet. They are stored in cupboards and the crew will make up your "bed" whenever you request them to do so.
