    Sick of flying :(

You young'uns :) That situation reminds me of everywhere in the world prior to 1996.

    Sick of flying :(

Hi John, this is way off topic (and I should probably have sent you a PM) but......, but could you answer 3 questions: Is there Visa on Arrival for KRT for Aussies? If not, is the visa process painful? Just returned on Sat from DAR-DXB-MEL on EK J. I frequently do DAR, EBB, ADD, LUN and NBO all...

    Sick of flying :(

Juddles, a few things here: 1. I also hate it. Although, I am not exactly sure if our hates are the same. Do you hate the actual flying? I am OK with the flying, I just hate being away from my home life (there was a time though where I did not have a home life of substance, so being away was...

    Lionair 610 crash

It was "widely reported and accepted the plane had a technical issue the day before".....because of the tech log leak.

    Lionair 610 crash

You are overthinking it. The earlier pilots would leak the flight report just to demonstrate to their peers (and the families of the deceased) that they did indeed report the problems. It would be human nature.

    Lionair 610 crash

If I was one of the 2 pilots on the previous flight, I would be leaking my flight report. The guilt/anger would be too much.

    Lionair 610 crash

For real Business Travellers, there is no such thing as a DNF list; that would just be silly and impractical. You just take what is on offer and get on with it. Here are the non-stop options from KUL-DEL: Air Asia Malindo (Lion) Air Malaysia Airlines Throw a dart at the board and pick a...

    The demise of the wallet

On a recent trip OS, I lost my wallet. Was genuinely surprised that the wallet was not found and returned to me. In the modern world there does not seem much financial gain in keeping a found wallet. Anyway, I flew to Bangkok the next day and the new credit cards were waiting for me at my...

Astroturf, here is where you went wrong. Just re-align your expectations with reality, and you will no longer feel disappointment - nor will you write letters again.

    Brisbane to Panama - ideas for J travel - Oneworld/Lifemiles/cash etc :)

I am unfamiliar with Life Miles. However to see Star Alliance FF availability I use the ana.co.jp website. Then if I cannot redeem on-line (i use Krisflyer), then I call them (but at least I know that the seat is definitely available on that date.)

    Brisbane to Panama - ideas for J travel - Oneworld/Lifemiles/cash etc :)

This seems obvious, but why not just use Star Alliance (Avianca?) FF Points to redeem J on SYD-IAH-PTA. Just use Qantas for the BNE-SYD leg. Looks the perfect flight option: Depart SYD at 10.50AM; Arrive Houston at 10.30AM. Fly on their newish Dreamliner 2 hour transit in IAH Depart IAH at...

    Best advice on AFF

Best advice was in 2003 but could not dig up the thread. Forget chasing FF points; that is low rent and feeble. (International) Discount J is where it is at...... and he was right.

    Singaporeair vs Garuda business

Hi Black Duck, If your company is paying, then just pay the $5000 extra and get your FF points and your glass of champagne. The company will not notice, so it will all be good. If you are paying out of your own pocket, then you probably would make a different decision.
