Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Sorry what I meant was to offer a top up of drinks after the meal service (if the pax still has a drink with them after the meal tray has been collected). The day we travelled had good weather and we were slowed down by ATC in Melbourne so time was not an issue. I have crew being proactive in...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Dinner on VA870 from SYD to MEL last Friday was a choice of the pasta with chorizo or the chicken with yoghurt dressing and rice. Went with the chicken and opted the pasta for the little one. Glad we were in row 1 as they only have loaded three pastas and everyone else behind us had no choice...

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

Maybe the next Qantas bound AY A333 will be OH-LTT as it ferried from HEL to HKG for maintenance last Friday (the 27th)...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Flew on a dinner time flight from SYD to MEL a couple of weeks ago and was offered the Thai chicken curry with jasmine rice or the truffled mac and cheese bake. Went with the mac and cheese as I had the Thai chicken curry before. Had a very good Tatachilla 2022 pinot grigio to go with the...

    Qantas New Partner - BP

Had a couple of good offers from BP recently. One was an offer for 200 points for spending $10 or more in store so I grabbed some milk and bread and the current offer was 200 points by filling up and grabbed shop in store (with no minimum spend required).

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

Its interesting when you look at the seat map for the wet leased 333 it shows the rego for the seven re-configured aircrafts (noting one aircraft OH-LTN is yet to be refurbished) so maybe the aircraft also continues on to SYD. Or maybe I am just reliant on QF on getting their seat maps right....

Return of Wifi on Virgin Australia

Flew on VUH a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised there was wifi available on board.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Had the same vegetable quiche with mash on my SYD to MEL a couple of weeks ago and it is interesting there was no chocolate on our meal trays. Agree the mash was delicious. Not sure if this has to do with the fact that our flight left at 11am which maybe a refreshment flight. Other option was...

Collection Plate on QF International Flight

Looks like there is now an additional option to donate by scanning the QR code which I assume will allow you to contribute via a credit card or some other form.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Hmmm... I keep it does not look like Mac and Cheese to me for some reason, at least compared to other photos I saw on this thread and onboard. I suppose with all the delays in SYD, one is likely to get some food to eat on the plane.

    12/12 Cancellations

One also has to keep mind crew might also be timed out with weather delays like this as they tend to operate multiple sectors in one day so a bit of storm activity in one city can cause massive flow on effects for the rest of the network for the whole day. Granted QF might be better than VA in...

    Cashback on domestic flights

The rescheduled rules apply only if the change is made/initiated by the traveller (i.e. a voluntary change) not by the airline. Although it takes ages for the cash back to be confirmed with VA. 1670928704 Also useful for trips for black out periods where the ITX13 code will not apply (e.g...

Will Virgin's Premium Lounge Entries open back up at some point?

No problems. The stairs to access level 4 is not easy to spot as its located at the far corner on the right hand side wall after you have passed through reception and a lot of people miss this as they made a bee line to the left hand side towards the main lounge.

Will Virgin's Premium Lounge Entries open back up at some point?

Agree that the SYD lounge is pretty packed in the afternoon peak especially if/when flights are delayed which was my experience last Thursday. The bright side is that upstairs (level 4) is open (maybe during peak times only) which is an oasis compared to downstairs. There was hardly anyone up...

Qantas doesn't care about priority boarding

A good experience at MEL on Sunday with PB in place for our A332 flight to SYD. As I arrived towards the end of the boarding process, I was happy there were two lines at the gate with the priority lane being much shorter so I guess it worked even though our flight was about 45 mins late already.

Qantas to Remove Domestic Boarding Pass Printing from Kiosks

There are check-in counters still at all major airports but there is always someone to check either a) you are eligible due to status etc. or b) there is a genuine need to see a check-in staff (e.g. oversized bags) before they let you through. I have no issues getting a boarding pass printed at...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

No complaints on the taste of the food but I believe meals presentation is still fairly inconsistent across the board. Had the same meal as Matt last week and the presentation of it could be better as there were more sauce on mine (which is not bad as it went well with the mash) and both my...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Dinner on my flight from SYD to MEL last Thursday was the chicken with mash and green beans or the gnocchi with creamy mushroom sauce. Haven't tried either dish but I went with the chicken as I had the tofu salad and vegetarian frittata in the lounge already and I was happy to say the dish...

Will Virgin's Premium Lounge Entries open back up at some point?

Just to add further from my experience last Thursday, there was no queues at security all when I arrived at the airport just before 6:30pm so no complaints from me. Guess priority security would be most useful during Friday evenings and school holidays when there are lots of people travelling.

Will Virgin's Premium Lounge Entries open back up at some point?

Was talking to a check in agent SYD earlier this evening and she noted premium entry is now also open in the afternoon from 3 to 6. Sounds like there are slowing reinstating this feature which is good news.
