I was the complete opposite. When I went through immigration in Hawaii it was the quickest out of the lot and the lady was very friendly and even was nice enough to strike up a conversation with me.

If a conviction was recorded they are going to make you wait 5 years from the expiry of Section 10 but you can try ealier obviously. Several people on here have not waited the 5 years and still been granted a visa.

I can only speak from experience that I applied for a visa this year and it only took me 4 months to receive it. I was expecting it to take 6 months after following this forum but was pleasantly surprised when it came 8 weeks earlier than expected.

You would have to look at each countries entry requirements. I don't believe he would have any problems entering any South-Eastern Asian countries or some Europe countries but would definitely have to apply for a visa to New Zealand, U.S.A, Canada and the U.K and other countries as well. If...

Very true. It certainly is a very rare case as personally I have never heard of this happening but good on the OP for not having to now wait the extended period of time to get their visa!
