CBA Plat Annual Fee - Dec 1 for all?

Just noticed on my CC statement that the Annual $250 fee was charged on Dec 1. My previous CBA Gold card annual fee was October. I've only had the Plat card since Oct. Anyone else get this premature annual fee? Is it a standard December 1 for all cardholders? Or just 2-3 months after you...

    Seat Plan/Map

If a A330 flight shows only 2 seats in J blocked out, 28 available, would you assume that they have only sold 2 seats? It's a midweek HKG-MEL flight mid next year. The text is J9C9D9I0U0. If it is, then you can guess how many U seats they allocate to each flight!

    CBA Platinum

Didn't realise that CBA did this... wonder if a gold CBA-->plat CBA would count as a balance transfer?

    Beware the Check-IN naz_'s

At Perth if you carry a aerosol can in hand luggage, they'll check that it has a lid and that it fits properly, otherwise you can't take it on board. Probably to avoid accidental release of the contents.

    Overseas trip, Sept. '05

Did they ring a bell each time someone joined up? If so, hope that they are still in business in Sept 05! I went to one quite a few years ago, smelt a rat and didn't join... saw them on Today Tonight hiding their faces from the camera a few months later!

    Mileage Run

I may need to rack up a few extra SCs in a couple of months time to ensure that I retain platinum. Anyone have any good Mileage runs that are available on QF? I'm in Perth, so the FNQ milk runs aren't much use. The best looking one at the moment is the infamous Bus run PER to Paraburdoo...

    Changes to Qantas Club Access

Also noticed that from 1 June 2004 the Denpasar lounge won't be available to Qantas passengers. Another reason not to go back to Bali!

Chairmans Lounge - the inner sanctum

Are they only at major Australian International airports, or are there secret doors that I haven't noticed at domestics?

    OneWorld Explorer (RTW) fares

A couple of questions... do the OW Explorer tickets ever get reduced (ie special offers)? I think I found in another thread that OW Explorer Economy is considered Discount Economy in terms of points and SC, is this right and is it the same for BA? Is an economy RTW a M class ticket? Do...

Attention: WA Qantas Frequent Flyer members

I think it probably also has a bit to do with the fact that there are a lot of FF points going to FIFO mining employees (Fly-in-Fly-out). Have a look in the Perth QC most weekday mornings at about 6am. More permanent press King Gee than Armani suits and ties!

    Upgrades for Award Bookings

I have got a complimentry upgrade (not an ODU) on an international flight (767) due to the economy being overbooked when my tickets were award redemptions - do they ever have to do this for domestic or only very rarely? Can you use the apparant availability of tickets for sale on the qantas...

    Around Aust for 30000 points?

The 24 hour rule is definitely used by Qantas. One good example of this I did was SYD-CHC arriving around noon, had the afternoon and evening in CHC then flew down to Queenstown the next morning without using up a stopover. A single booking of PER-SYD (1)-New Zealand(2)-MEL(3)-PER would have...

    Upgrades for Award Bookings

I've booked an award economy booking (T class) for March next year for myself Per to Syd and a red-edeal ($312 return!) on the same flights for my wife. On the return leg, there appears to be 2 J class seats available (using the assumption that available award seats are the same as upgrade...

    ANZ card poll

They used to refund fees, I had mine refunded when I switched from the Qantas Visa to a Telstra Visa. I then had them refunded again about 6 months later when I complained about a completely different matter! Don't know why, but when you are complaining about a couple of dollar fee and they...

    ANZ card poll

    1) be aware of your anniversary date. I dumped the QFF card a year or so ago when they first introduced fees, dropping to the Telstra card, which I avoided fees by spending over $2400/yr! Hence I never paid an annual fee, so had to call them, and was told that the next year's fee was about to...

    AMEX gives 1.5 points

No, the annual fee is included/waived in the $12/month. The standard ascent fee is $59/year; I assume that most people would get the $70/yr annual fee waived by spending over $9500/yr so that's $85 extra for the extra 0.5 points/$. I value my points at about 30k=$500 (PER to east coast...
