    Ask The Pilot

JB, in the "Traveller" supplement of the Age there is an article about Airlines. The article, titled "The truth behind 13 rules of flying you (probably) didn’t know about" has a para about single engine operation. It says that the A380, once airborne, can run on one engine. Is this true?

Saw this on the news last night. If you're likely to be short of a quid, maybe you can follow in RdC's footsteps and become an aviation commentator. He's been on the box a bit lately.

Is the A350 a long haul A/C? If so, if getting them in the future, would this mean a return to overseas travel with VA? I miss its Prem Eco seating in the 777. Much better than the QF Nightmare Liner, I reckon. QF A380 would've been OK had we got decent seats.

50 people injured on SYD-AKL LATAM flight LA800

On the Melbourne talkback AM radio they had one pax who claimed that the "pilot" (not the captain or FO, mind you) said that they lost instrumentation. He claimed that the aircraft pitched nose-down then the "back tail corrected this" (paraphrasing here). The hosts of the show asked how long...

Latam Airlines in the news and the dreaded "plunge" word being used. Anyone got the good goss on what happened here? And why?

How does that go with customs and so on? ie. you have to pass through there normally in order to get to the gate.

    Ask The Pilot

In the FB feed an article about using an A380 for domestic MEL-SYD to cover some flights. As it's a domestic flight can they park it at the domestic terminal? Or will they just park it away from the terminal and bus in 500 pax?

And they'll howl even louder if their flights are delayed because of this. 1708043474 Folks, any idea on why QF780 PER-MEL decided to fly way north then back to MEL? It was reported on the 3AW "Rumor File" (the guy calling in couldn't even name the airline for whatever reason)...

Security-wise from a pax's perspective I too found things to widely differ across airports both here and internationally. The most "relaxed" were the TSA at LAX when we were flying to New York back in July. I have what's called a stoma, the result of bladder cancer. The reaction to it varied...
