Accomodation for Cancelled Qantas Link Flights due to Weather

Only two weeks ago on board JQ38 SYD-DPS the plane returned back to Sydney due to volcanic activity in Bali. I can’t praise Jetstar enough on how they helped. As we initially flew out of Melb, they put my family of 5 up for the night, this included a $30.00 voucher each for breakfast...

Consensus on points compo for failed IFE

Late last year I flew SFO to SYD in PE. I could only scroll through the channels to view movies and shows, the main menu function didn't work. I was unable to view programs from the beginning. Fortunately I did with find the beginning of one movie rather quickly. Compensation was 2000 points.

Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

After joining QF after the demise of Ansett, I’m glad to say that I've finally reached LTG. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to upgrade my flight last week to business as it would have been a nice way to celebrate. 95% of my flights have been in Y, so it’s been a long haul. At this stage I’ll...

I just made QFF Platinum today :)

I've always travelled with my wife and three children and never had issues entering the FLounge. In fact we only flew out of Mel last month and had no issues, even though the two of the 3 children are now adults. Perhaps I've always been lucky.

    Hotels.com or a loyalty program

For me, hotels.com is perfect. As I'm unable to stay loyal with one particular chain due to lack of accommodation in a variety of locations. Recently booked 10 free nights in Hong Kong for the family and in the past have received free or cheap nights in the US. Rates are reasonable as well.

    Qantas Award Charges Outrageous

Used points for flights many times and constantly been disgruntled about the fees, particularly when flying OS. I recently purchased a flight for my daughter from LAX to Nadi, cost USD5.60 + points. I then purchased another flight from Nadi to Melbourne AUD165+ points, all in Y. I’d love to know...

When did you decide to go for lifetime gold with Qantas?

I have just over 12,600 points so should reach LTG bymid 2018. Been flying QF since the demise of Ansett. LTGis still a long way away, but I must admit that I'm starting to thinkabout it now. It’s been a long haul as I only fly Y with the occasional Y+ tothe US.

Opinions - Qantas v China Southern, PER to LAX, Y

Have you considered using FF points for seat allocation? Last year I flew with the family to NY and return using FF points. Flying to NY was fine as I was on the plane with them so being WP I had seat allocation. On the return leg from LA to Melbourne my family of four flew home alone. I rang up...

AirBNB - Share your experiences here

Last year as a family of 5 we stayed in NYC with Homeaway, another version of AirBNB. As someone has previously mentioned, read the reviews. Prior to booking this apartment, we noticed another apartment which appeared to be to good to be true, upon further investigation, it was clearly a scam as...

Hi gojun, I have flown CX PE on a number of occasions particularly on overnight flights and found it perfectly adequate to sleep. It may nor be as comfortable as business, but certainly better than Y.

    Travelling to NZ

I've never had any issues entering a QF lounge with a my family of 5. I was however asked to be considerate of space many years ago flying out of HNL, we left the lounge a little early as it filled up. All that I would suggest it that you ask politely and hope that the lounge isn't over crowded.
