    No route maps!

    Thanks that's helpful.

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Accidentally found my way into the CL in ADL. Walked around, wondered where everyone was and went back out again and asked where the J lounge was. There is no J lounge. Should have hid in the CL.

    No route maps!

I was thinking about going to Tassie on the 72hr Tassie flight sale, but there are no route maps on the website. I'm now based out of BDB (don't ask!) and would like to know what's the easiest way to get... well, anywhere! ETA: I went to Link Airways site and they ALSO do not have a route...

    General Medical issues thread

I would suggest that this is unlikely until she's able to weight bear on that leg. This would be less of an issue if she hadn't broken her wrist. I was sent home with a knee scooter when I broke my leg so badly it needed surgery. That could work if she's up to it. It was a godsend for me. Turned...

Cruising choices with an active Pandemic

I discussed antivirals with my GP before I left and you can't get them to take with you because they can't prescribe them unless you have covid.

    SQ SIN-MXP-BCN: MXP procedures?

Well I kind of enjoyed the ability to stretch my legs because something about my seat hurt my knee. Feels okay now I've arrived in BCN though. Did NOT enjoy the immigration queue at BCN though. And it did not appear there was a priority queue for J/F either

    SQ SIN-MXP-BCN: MXP procedures?

Currently at the airport in Milan. The answer to the question is: it depends on the numbers of people who are getting off and on. We were made to get off, but the airport is empty because of a transport workers strike here. Masks are required in the MXP-BCN leg which is unexpected.

    SQ SIN-MXP-BCN: MXP procedures?

I'll do my best to remember! If they do deplane us and make us pass immigration, I may forget due to the stress of it all in 90mins.

    SQ SIN-MXP-BCN: MXP procedures?

This caught my eye as I'm doing this in a couple of weeks, I hope they figure it out by then!

    General Medical issues thread

The responses to that article are the most relevant IMO, and pretty much outline why it was a stupid knee-jerk reaction to remove OTC codeine from our shelves. Edit: was recently forced to go to ED and had been there so long the paracetamol had worn off and I asked for more. The doctor had lost...

Cruising choices with an active Pandemic

I am taking the bull by the horns and have booked a cruise on the Mediterranean (my first) in one of those Norwegian mega-ships in Oct. It wasn't my choice, it was chosen by the rellies I'm travelling with, but I figure I may as well go along as not. Covid doesn't appear to be going away any...

    AFF on Air Discussion thread

I have only just started listening to the pod (hard to believe, I'm such a podcast tragic), but I'm finding it so informative and helpful. I AM surprised at the lack of advertising on it though - I would have thought a couple at the start and finish would be a no-brainer. Not that I'm...

    General Medical issues thread

I have successfully managed to avoid acquiring any of these things since I moved into my new home (having left the old ones with my ex-husband), so it IS possible.

Ethiopian 737 Max 8 crash and Fallout

New Aussie budget airline Bonza seems only to be planning to use Max8s. This is a big disappointment to me as they will be flying out of BDB to MEL and that's a route I am likely to use a bit, and bypassing BNE or the 4+ hr drive to BNE would be most welcome.

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

You're assuming that she's not hugely popular in QLD. She is largely viewed as having protected the population from what's happening Down South.

Oh great. Are we allowed to refuse entry to anyone coming from there?

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

IANAD, but as a health professional, this is not what I signed up for. When I started work, I worked a 9to5 job. we did not work 24/7. We did a small amount of on-call work for overnights, but now you are expected to agree to work 24/7 to get a job. Some people might say that's just the product...

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

Pretty much everyone living outside NSW and a goodly number of people I know living in NSW would disagree with you. Given they've managed to spread it through so much of their state and also into VIC and QLD and people still trying to illegally cross state borders all the time.

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

It was very different. They put up concrete bollards and checked every car - asked who they were and where they were going and proof that they were essential workers if they were crossing the ring of steel. I have a friend who lived out of it and worked inside of it. It was a massive workload...

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

You forget about the hospital staff who have to care for the sick. Reports out of countries like India, the UK and the US tell stories of overwhelmed staff, desperate and miserable, without hope of a respite, burnt out and with no end in sight. Have you considered the cost the health system of...
