QF Gold Flying On SA flight number on QF metal

Hi My client has booked a trip for me on an SA ticketed and flight number departing Sydney to SA. The flight is operated on QF metal (partner airline arrangement) but I'm a little confused as to what...if any benefits I receive under the arrangement as a QF Gold - Is there any lounge access...

Pilot Flips his Lid Mid Flight

Its been reported that after the Capt left the coughpit, the FO locked the door and changed the code (presume overide code). I daresay any other mechanisms for overide are not going to be a matter of public record

Aiming for Platinum, hoping for Status match

I can't see them offering to status match again. As the OP says, the platinum benefits are more appealing, and VA know this - they aren't going to devalue this for their elite members when thing like their lounges are nearing capacity at peak hours. The last status match I believe was part of...

First Time on the ATR - Front or Back?

Correct. row 1 can be purchased as an exit row. Although for gold and above this can usually be allocated free of charge at time of checkin by the lounge angels.

First Time on the ATR - Front or Back?

Row 17 for first off the plane and first for inflight service. Rows forward of 9 tend to have most engine noise. Seats further forward also have 1 inch less legroom. Auto platinum seat assignment is row 17.

    Beware the business bogan

I have no interest in reclining on a flight under 3 hours when there is someone behind me. Yes people get what they pay for in Y, but when everyone is in the same kettle of fish, the least we can all do is make it as pleasant for each other as possible and it comes down to simple consideration...

Velocity Platinum "enhancement" no more free emergency exit rows (did I miss this?)

Re: Velocity Platinum "enhancement" no more free emergency exit rows (did I miss this Always been able to select exit row online at time of booking...shame if this is no longer the case. However as others have suggested, it was always an unpublished benefit. I suspect that the increase in...

    AUH lounge update

I'm pleased to see this has been sorted for Platinum members travelling in economy. Swapping terminals in AUH transfer sounded a bit of a pain especially for a lounge of lesser quality than business lounge. Appropriate benefit for VA top tier flyers.

    Lounge Member+Silver = 2 useless lounge passes??

They definately do refund the remaining balance. Although my refund slipped through the cracks when I went to Gold. Quickest resolution was an email to [email protected]. It was then back in my bank account within 5 days.

    Lounge Member+Silver = 2 useless lounge passes??

If you are both qualifying as Silver, and you say you both often travel together, then I would suggest using famiky pooling. That way one of you could qualify for Gold...then lounge fee refund and free lounge entry. From a commercial standpoint, they would never refund lounge fees for...

Business class Launch [Double SC Promo - Ended 29 Feb 12]

No didn't query it. There was nobody around to query it with in all honesty. They served 2flex passengers in row 3, and they were gone for the rest of the flight stating they will serve non flexi customers after... until 'prepare cabin for landing'. Maybe flexi is the new tier above Plat ;)...

Business class Launch [Double SC Promo - Ended 29 Feb 12]

Tonights 6pm BNE > SYD Non refurbished plane - didn't get reg. Certainly wouldnt have bee happy if I paid business fare for it. Dedicated business host looked after them well onboard. I was in 3C on Saver fare - looking forward to my complimentary wine or beer. However, it appears the...

2012 Update to the Virgin Australia Lounge menu

Curry going down very nicely in the BNE lounge this evening, along with some extra sweet treats. And ticked over to platinum with 12 credits short (but i do have substantial domestic and int travel already booked with VA). Definately a full happy camper this evening :@)

2012 Update to the Virgin Australia Lounge menu

Look forward to sampling this tomorrow. This is great news, something the lounge has lacked is the hot dishes, and I always seemed to miss the previous 'pass rounds'.

Best option for WP SYD-LHR in Y

Price difference between QF and VA made me opt for my recent Y booking to LHR. I booked through the VA website (as price was cheaper than the EY website), both sectors however are on EY metal - not sure if that means I earn VA rate or EY rates with regards to status credits ( i have a VA flight...

VA Booking To LHR on EY Metal

I have just made a reservation via Virgin Australia, for SYD-LHR return next year. When completing the booking, I had no option to select seat preferences/selection for myself and partner. However, it did automatically generate seat preferences which places myself and partner sitting...

    Lounge access with Gold Membership

Im waiting to see what VA's stance is on refunding lounge membership after a Gold Status Match. It has't been forthcoming, so have dropped an email to see what gives. Maybe I was best off not getting matched, given by the time it happened I was 20 credits of making it under my own steam :@)

    Melbourne Security Priority Queue

Hi I mostly travel through BNE & SYD, and it has mostly been good at BNE, but then it does tend to be roped off a bitter better than the Melbourne layout. I have never seen loung angels screening at any of the security points. I was stuck behind a school party the other day, who were waved...
