Australia to Reduce Incoming Int. Passenger Capacity from July 2021

Thanks Skip. We transited through Changi airport without incident - although there was no time to rest. We were strictly shepherded from SQ317 to SQ245 and boarded after a short wait. Slightly longer flight time on the LHR-SIN leg and an already short transit at Changi (originally 2 hours...

Australia to Reduce Incoming Int. Passenger Capacity from July 2021

Currently mid-flight on SQ317 (LHR - SIN) in J. Cabin looks about 1/3 to 1/2 full. Haven’t looked at the other cabins. SQ flight crew fantastic as always. Fingers crossed our connecting flight SQ245 to BNE goes smoothly too. Check-in at LHR was a nervous experience as the required...

Australia to Reduce Incoming Int. Passenger Capacity from July 2021

Thanks @madrooster . Does this mean SQ cancellations prior to 29/09 are already confirmed? Fingers crossed for SQ245 on 25/09!

Australia to Reduce Incoming Int. Passenger Capacity from July 2021

https://www.smh.com.au/world/asia/devastating-dozens-of-new-flight-cancellations-leave-australians-stranded-20210914-p58rg9.html Excerpt: Prime Minister Scott Morrison has foreshadowed a reopening of borders when vaccination rates hit 80 per cent but the hopes of scores of Australians trying...

Travelling to Australia During COVID-19 (Discussion)

Received a Qantas email regarding repatriation flights from London to Darwin 8 & 21 September. I noticed the email 10 minutes after it hit my inbox and immediately accessed the link to book flights, they were already sold out in those few minutes (all classes). Fingers crossed our Singapore...

Travelling to Australia During COVID-19 (Discussion)

I read the latest QLD pause on arrivals as applying to interstate travellers only, not international: https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/aug/25/queensland-covid-update-two-week-ban-on-people-moving-from-interstate-as-hotel-quarantine-overwhelmed Anyone else agree / disagree? If...

Travelling to Australia During COVID-19 (Discussion)

When I looked at SQ a week ago I couldn’t find economy availability from London to BNE until February 2022. Business availability 17 Nov 2021.

That is extremely generous! Hopefully we won’t need to call on you but your message has lowered my stress levels a few notches :)

Travelling to Australia During COVID-19 (Discussion)

That’s what we’ve accepted, hopefully we are in the best position possible to make it back. Five years as an expat, overdue to return - with a 1 year old infant in tow! We’ll be holed up in the airport hotel having vacated our home in London, not many options if we don’t get away. Looked at...

Travelling to Australia During COVID-19 (Discussion)

It’s a paid fully flexi Business fare. Not sure if airline status makes any difference in the current environment, but I’m a PPS Club member.

Travelling to Australia During COVID-19 (Discussion)

Does anyone have visibility of passenger loads on recently arriving SQ317 (London - Singapore) & SQ245 (Singapore - Brisbane)? We are booked to depart LHR on 24 September arriving BNE on 25 September in Z class, fingers crossed we won’t be bumped or the flight cancelled. Bit worrying reading...

Australia to Reduce Incoming Int. Passenger Capacity from July 2021

Australians abroad looking to return for a "visit" have another hurdle to climb. I understand the logic (wanting to remove pressure from quarantine capacity / flight caps for Australians stranded and wanting to return permanently)...

    BA closes upper deck 747-400

Thanks all for your responses - I was particularly peeved off at the time! I see the explanation has already been set out by a fellow traveller on the same flight in the Flyer Talk forum, really poor on the part of the DFW BA ground staff. Anyway I have completed the hardcopy "feedback" form...

    BA closes upper deck 747-400

Not moot - after making our grievance clear, Fabio (CSR) has moved us upstairs to 63A & B. Much happier! Thanks for the on-the-spot seat data Serfty - it wasn't needed ultimately (the move happened before I saw your post) but just goes to show what a shoddy job ground staff have done.

    BA closes upper deck 747-400

Flying on a oneworld award rtw ticket (280k / J) and currently at DFW waiting to board BA192 to LHR aboard a 747-400. Given we'd never before had the opportunity to fly the upper deck (nor are we likely to again), we made sure to reserve two seats in the upstairs cabin. Both were emergency...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Thanks Melburnian - I can only echo your comments! We are back in the business lounge waiting to board. Hopefully. Boarding was scheduled to commence at 9:15am but it hasn't yet - hopefully that's because of a minor delay in getting everyone through check-in counters rather than another...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

QF7 update (cancelled on 29 March 2017). After boarding the aircraft for an ontime departure (scheduled 1:30pm) yesterday, we disembarked and waited for updates as staff didn't know how long the engineering work would take. Around 7:30pm we were advised as 7:30pm that the service had been...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

My wife and I are passengers on today's now cancelled QF7. Reason was major engineering work required (emergency brakes?). Waiting in QF business lounge for information onour hotel and food/beverage arrangements... No idea how they are going to get us over there tomorrow!

    Heads up about program changes

I'm sure this has been covered ad nauseum, but for the sake of clarity could someone please confirm whether we continue to earn status credits & ff points for MASAs booked before 30 June 2014 for travel after 30 June 2014 in the "U" fare bucket? I'm looking at a business class flight...
