Any Seat Awards are only for QF metal flights, as QF do not fly to BRU it is no surprise it doesnt show up. As LHR-BRU would be a code-share, can you book to any other European destinations ex-SIN that are on a code-share? Could possibly be the code-share partner doesn't allow bookings ex-SIN.

Just looking at the QF seat map, it would be good if it would highlight when a bassinet with a baby was booked, flashing bright red as a warning. Maybe an option in seat preference for: Aisle, Upper Deck, Far Away From Babies

Should have said, BA Silver and Gold can select seats for free (and OW equiv) and others have to pay, which means most seats are un-allocated until check-in.

I wouldn't rely on the seatmap to give any indication of whether the flight is full or not, as only BA Silver and Gold members can select seats at the time of booking (even for J!)

Doesn't really work at airports with jetbridges though. I've been to a few regional airports on QantasLink that have front and back stairs. Strange you'd think that is the biggest advantage of Virgin over Qantas.. Planes still leave at the same time, and jetbridges are a lot quicker (usually)...

From my experience, most flights to LHR has J sold out or close to before T-48hrs when upgrades for WPs happen. Also, as they are MEL/SYD-SIN-LHR, if you are booked on the direct flight, you stand a lower chance than if you book with a connection, ie QF9 to Singapore, change to QF1. Otherwise...

That doesn't really specify that Y and Y+ upgrades to J are done purely on status though.. Doing a Y+ to J upgrade would then free up a Y+ seat for a Y to Y+ upgrade, so more pseudo-revenue to QF..
