Yes, QF11/12 is missing out on the A380 most days at the moment. QF need 3 A380's to do a daily LHR service and generally like to have 1 spare in SYD. But with only 4 A380's currently in service the 1 spare is all they have to do LAX.

There are now 3 in active service (OQD, J, K), with 2 in Abu Dhabi undergoing refurb/maintenance (OQB, OQH) and 1 more has just gone from Victorville to Los Angeles for prep to service (OQG).

Lucky you weren't on QF486 MEL/SYD last night (Friday 11/2). Someone forgot to order the catering so there was nothing for anyone in J or Y. The crew did manage to find a packet of pretzels and a plastic cup of water for J pax.

QF 713 CNS/BNE FRIDAY, 4 February 2022 Choice of lamb shanks or chicken with roast potatoes. Had the chicken which wasn't too bad. No PDB and the cabin manager was rather brusque, not really suited to working a premium cabin.

VH-OQK has been sitting outside at the QF LAX maintenance base since early December.

VH-OQD has just left LAX enroute to SYD as QF6023. Estimated arrival at 0639 Monday 10 Jan.
