Does anyone know if you can change the star alliance gold on renewal or future years? I signed up with Aeroplan initially to get the bonus 50k points but would like to transfer to Krisflyer as you get more VA gold benefits compared to Aeroplan.

Received my SUB on the amex plat charge referall after spending $8K. It was pretty much instant. I'll keep the card before the AF renews and i'll either cancel or downgrade to a free card. Hopefully they give me an upgrade offer again to the plat charge so i can get the SUB again.

It is a cracker deal for the first year. What's there not to like? First year Annual Fee Free Star Alliance Gold If you select Air Canada you get 50,000 bonus Aeroplan points. Seems like a no brainer to me. Cancel second year if you do not want to keep it.
