Thanks for the comments, guys. Air Canada offered a 20pc off voucher as a gesture of goodwill. Still not overly happy, and find it extremely sneaky. But par for the course with travel, you tend to learn the 'tricks' of the trade over time and in this case, lesson unfortunately learnt.

Did the Singapore Lounge a few weeks ago. Great staff, but small and food was no better than the PP lounge next door. In fact, I would have preferred the PP lounge as we would have got a proper seat and better range of food.

I'm annoyed too because I would like to put in 2 different seat requests - I don't want to be split across the aisle on the old config (could think of nothing worse), but on the new one it seems to be the better option. Oh well, hope our flight on the return leg at the end of May is the new config!

Flying VA7 BNE-LAX on April 20th. Seat map was the new config, but now the call centre are saying it's the old plane...... :( The flight has been delayed 2 hours, not sure if it's connected (don't know why it would be) but it's strange to be delayed this far out.

So here's a weird one. In 2014 I retained Gold on points spend but last year I only stayed a few nights due to a job change. Since the new year I have stayed Gold on the HHonors website even though I haven't earnt it. What's happening?? Will I be Gold at check-in or is this a website error?
