Boarding via the rear stairs - Qantas flight

It's a trial for possible introduction in the future. It's only for boarding at this stage, or that's the plan. Quicker turns and better utilisation. ADL is the test city. The plan is on arrival cleaners will come through while catering is loaded for Y then removed and stairs added.

    Not cheap, just poor

When JQ move into T4 in MEL later this year some things will improve. Improvements: It'll be self checkin and bag drop machine as the norm. Less people in security Q and in line to check in T1 (hope they don't cut back on security staff) Downside: No lounge in T4 and a long hike from T1 Pax...

Qantas changes pets policy - now freight.

It was my understanding that some airports banned animals from being in the terminals altogether. Of course Working dogs were permitted by laws.

    Is Qantas Actually Listening?

I love the term "simpler and fairer", this is my take on this spin. This enhancement has made it Simpler for me to change airlines and Fairer to my wallet. QF need not concern themselves as I'm only Gold, heck they don't seem to listen to Plat 1 it would seem. Since they have announced the...

    Qantas passenger found with rat

There are no full body X-rays in Australia. Ok then lets call it another name, body scanner. Based on the Melbourne Airport website they have been introduced. The main concern and to why I posted my comment was the fact the rat had already flown and the person was attempting to fly another...

    Qantas passenger found with rat

It was QF9 last Sunday. Had already travelled with it from SYD to MEL. Was only stopped due to a random full body X-ray rather than just walking through. I had to wonder what would happen when the guy fell asleep and it got restless. Another no news.com full page story.

The ex-QFF benefits list. What do you miss the most?

I remember flying ADL-MEL/SYD/PER/DRW via ADL then ASP then back to ADL in First for 45000 pts no taxes. Remember the kilometers being capped and I think I had a couple left over. Great value, think J was 37500 pts.

Bumped - should I have been informed

Have to agree with Travel Guru on this issue. I understand your annoyed, thankfully it's a short flight. I have been moved for a vision impaired customer even after being checked in, ( got a call whilst in the lounge) the travel agent forgot to tell the airline. If an airline had to call you...

Melbourne Airport stalling and preventing bus stops at the main terminals

Hi All, Caught the bus today - so handy. Was visiting a friend in Tullamarine and taxi drivers often refuse short fares. The fact it is now undercover is great, especially with MEL winter days.;)

Free Upgrade* [*to Cocos Islands only]

Wednesday: PER-XCH-CCK-PER Saturday: PER-CCK-XCH-PER Sunday, operated fortnightly only freight service PER-XCH-PER Many years ago it was TAA one week and Ansett...

Security Breach at MEL Int Terminal

It was infact Air New Zealand's new ground handling agent Toll and it also happened last week. I understand the operation of serving NZ is new, but Toll have many other accounts they handle and this shouldn't happen.

My Jetstar Tickets Changed Without My Authorisation

They would have asked for the PNR details inc name and on and off point. I know that Virgin record the calls but not sure about JQ. Perhaps your ex partner may need to refund you the 2nd tkt as pretending to be the pax may be considered fraud.

QF44 last night - not a great flight to be on

It was initially directed to divert to MEL as SYD air traffic control were swamped. The storms were about 40 nautical kms from SYD airport, but apparently they couldn't handle anymore flights in a holding pattern. The diversion to MEL was to be a touch and go refuel stop with pax remaining on...

    Changing flights at domestic Q-Lounges

When flights are oversold or bad storms are expected, or even a cancelled service the staff via the system have the ability to move people forward. They allow this on all fare types to avoid having to overnight anyone who is still left at the end of the day. Chatting to staff, I am aware of...

I am supposed to be QFF Platinum today but...

I'm sure that based on how important you are, SQ will drop everything and finally launch that new direct flight you deserve. Direct from New Caledonia to SIN, and EK are chomping at the bit likewise. This will save you the problems and hassles of having to take those troublesome INTERNATIONAL...
