That's a little different as everyone is on a pretty level playing field with the underlying network and costs. In this case you would have both VA and Rex trying to make a profit, each with their own overheads, going against QF with their single overhead.

Do you think they'll bother with these types of routes, or just ditch them completely? Would it be competitive with QF to outsource it to another carrier like Rex and still have enough profit in it for both companies?

Your right - they're very much a what you see is what you get. They're not overly fancy, but they don't portray themselves that way either. They'll get you from A - B safely, on time, with minimal fuss.

I guess being a much smaller company they don't have to capacity to keep loss making routes around. So easier to abandon them altogether and move your aircraft and staff to an alternative route than makes you money. Really that's just smart business sense. Airline's seem to be very strong...

These were the general flight departure/arrival screens around the terminal. Also was going back a few years now, so possibly has changed - i certainly hope it has.

I mean yeah.. but the only reason we did this was we saw the screens and they weren't showing boarding or go to gate etc. If they had showed anything like that we would have gone straight to the gate. TBH given the plane wasn't even at the gate when we got there, i don't think the 2 minute stop...

I have been one of these people once - it's the only flight i've missed. Connecting flight in KL - originally booked with plenty of transfer time. However conspiring events led to the outbound flight been moved to an earlier slot a few weeks before and then the inbound flight was delayed...

2 I guess it depends what you value in a lounge doesn't it. IE if you value a quiet space without a crowd then yeah the fact every man and their dog seem to have lounge access these days really does devalue it a bit. I guess you could also blame that for the general availability of food/drinks...

I think certainly from a ease of replacement point of things a phone would be the the easiest to replace, especially when travelling. The inconvenience of waiting for replacement passports and bank cards etc, missed flights, extra accommodation costs and the likes add up quickly.

Have just made a few award bookings to travel with Singapore Airlines in December - February. Asides from logging into the SIA website and viewing the bookings 1 by 1, is there a way to monitor these bookings for things like time or aircraft changes?

Still upset about loosing my mass velocity point income from using my high flyer card to pay the ATO. The only other card i have available to me currently is the Westpac Earth Black card. Has anyone tried this card and did they get points crediting for ATO payments?
