Passport Renewal / Application - Time Taken?

If I’m not mistaken, you should be able to request for a refund of the priority fee if the passport was not made available within 2 business days.

Transfer International to Domestic at MEL?

By the way, how long is your connection time? If you look at some of the other threads, you’ll see that it can take more than an hour after landing before bags start to appear at the belt.

    AFF Gathering #15 in NTL on 21 – 23 October 2022

When would we need to confirm by? In between jobs so attendance would be based on what I end up doing (and how much I get paid for it).

    Jetstar booking issue?

just for the update, check in went smoothly. If there was an issue, they resolved it well enough to the point where I definitely wouldn’t have known about it.

Transfer International to Domestic at MEL?

Just remember to turn right when you get to landside at T2. Signage is not a strong point at that part of the terminal.

MEL Dom-Intl Transit on separate tickets

Just came through MEL intl yesterday, luggage for the early morning arrivals only started coming onto the belts an hour or so after landing.

Ouch. We’re treated as an ATM yet again.

Jetstar Asia scraps Darwin Singapore route

The visa on arrival requirement was scrapped some years back.

    Jetstar booking issue?

On the Jetstar manage booking page, there is this ominous message: Important - there are things we need to sort out on your booking. Please go to contact us. Is this really as important as it sounds? I already flew the first leg without issue (it’s an international itinerary). It’s a points...

Unable to link lounge pass to Jetstar flight to Singapore

That’s what I did the other week. They don’t actually tell you why the linking doesn’t work, so I actually asked at the lounge itself (note that the QF lounge is just opposite the Amex one so I was going to be there anyway). It allowed me to link ex-SIN prior to the school holidays finish...

Melbourne Dinner Fri 24th August - 7pm @ "The Olive Tree"

I'll have to check if my director (wife) and the general manager (10-month-old) would grant me leave...

Anyone taken up the current 100k Assure Sign on Bonus

For those who have done this before (or switched in general), if I decide to switch to Assure, would I need to contact the current insurer to cancel my current policy or will Assure looks after everything?

Best bassinet seat in Y? (international flights)

Has anyone worked out where would be the bassinet seat when flying with an infant? Obviously, the baby couldn't tell me which one she prefers. Using adult thinking, the ones right at the front would be nice and quiet (while ignoring all the WPs moaning), but the "noisy" part at the back is...

    Which terminal

Check-in procedures do not change no matter the gate. Where you check-in is determined by the destination of the flight. T1/2/3 are basically one continuous block airside and when the airport runs out of gates in one terminal, they simply borrow a gate from the next terminal.

30% off Qantas economy classic rewards (ends 12 March)

Looks like I'm finally emptying my points account. It will probably take me a year or so before I can clear my other account with another airline. I used to hold points for a long time but it just doesn't seem to make much sense given the more or less regular devaluations and it's a bunch of...

Do you always select the seat if available?

When I'm flying short-haul by myself these days, I have actually stopped choosing seats. It's no difference from catching a bus, really. With my +2s, it's either the bassinet if one is available, or anywhere that looks like there will be a spare seat if a bassinet isn't available.

    AFF Gathering #12 in ADL on 19 - 21 October 2018

I'll put myself + wife + daughter down as silver for now. The little one would have just reached 1 year so hopefully she is well enough to travel - although I can imagine everyone here hoping I won't be on the same plane. :P

    Ask The Pilot

It was typhoon signal 10 in HKG today, with the system I believe packing winds of almost 100 knots. Somehow, one flight managed to land in that wind (probably the only one who tried). Has anyone here tried to land in such conditions?

    Cathay feels the pain

Some years ago, when a lot of Chinese could easily spend excessive amounts on luxury, they happily paid the higher fares to fly on CX. Times have now changed. That market has significantly reduced in size, and CX doesn't seem to be adapting. If anything, they are trying to maintain the premium...

    Qantas Delays/Cancellations

That should be QF35. QF has quite long turn arounds in SIN, so return flights are rarely affected. QF52 SIN-BNE is a little delayed though, I think it's a separate issue since there is enough time for all SIN planes to turn around on time today.
