Please store your laptop even when the seatbelt sign is not on

Safety card is size of A4 paper, ie. 30x21cm. SurfacePro is 29x20cm. It is quite important to some passengers to be as productive as possible in the air, and this technology seems a good solution that is within the rules.

Please store your laptop even when the seatbelt sign is not on

I also find it irritating on a short Qantas flight when they insist on putting laptops away well before the seatbelt sign is off.so you lose 15 minutes work time - as per comments above, well before other airlines request to do so, and if you request 5 minutes grace to finish an email then you...

    Fuel top up con

Thrifty Sydney Airport charged me for returning the car 4L short of a full tank (they allow 3L) even though I filled the car 3km from the airport. No comment when I returned the car. Only backed down when I showed the fuel receipt.

How far do you go to keep fit while travelling?

Exercise is a great way to get over jetlag and keep sane while on work trips - usually go for a jog before going to bed on evening of arrival in an overseas city (sometimes at 11pm!!), and if I have a free morning the next day then hire a bike and cycle in the daylight for a couple of hours. For...

What is the attraction of lounges?

When travelling for work, a lounge is a fantastic place to get work done between flights - a table or desk to rest your computer on, reliable availability of internet and powerpoints, clean bathrooms, can leave your bag for a minute to grab a drink or something to eat. Also as said already -...

Getting to Niagara Falls from Toronto

Still worthwhile considering renting a car, as the attractions are quite spread out, and (from memory) the parking is not too expensive. The Maid of the Mist ferry is good fun (stand right at the front if you want to get really wet!) and goes from both the US and the Canadian sides. If you rent...

Airline economics - interesting ABC Radio National Podcast

Up, up and away: the economics of air travel on The Moneywith Richard Aedy on RN Thursday 24th November SummaryAirlines are a vital part of the global economy but their margins are thin, which is why the airlines turn to the secretive science of yield management and no two plane fares cost the...

British Airways Euro Traveller - Lyon to London Heathrow and return (and Lyon BA/Hego

Re: British Airways Euro Traveller - Lyon to London Heathrow and return (and Lyon BA/ In retrospect I got row 13 (with no option to change seats without a fee), because it didn't recognize my OWE status despite having the correct QF FF number. Wasn't fussed enough to call up about it.

British Airways Euro Traveller - Lyon to London Heathrow and return (and Lyon BA/Hego

I had to take a day out of a beautiful holiday in the French Alps for a work meeting in the UK, giving me the opportunity to review British Airways in Euro Traveller from Lyon to London Heathrow (0655hrs) and return to Lyon (2045 hrs) on the one day. Thought it was worthwhile to write up, as I...

    QF Business - 747 v A380

One advantage of 5J over 5B is that you are not as impacted by people boarding thru the left hand door just in front of you (IIRC).

Qantas operated LAX First/oneworld lounges at TBIT

Tried the LAX F lounge last night. The good: A beautiful lounge with friendly and helpful staff, excellent food/drinks/showers. Best place to relax after dinner was the lounge chairs overlooking the big glass windows, showing the hordes of travellers entering the retail area from security...

American express - sydney airport express lane

If I recall correctly, at SYD International arrivals there is still an express/fast track for immigration (not needed if you are using the smart gate) but there is no express/fast track for customs.

    access to Alaska Board Room?

No trouble accessing Alaska board room at LAX terminal 6 today as WP connecting from QF12 in business to AS2196. The sign at the door said "qantas members also welcome when travelling on Qantas or Alaska". Small pleasant enough lounge with free soft drinks/3 "well drinks"/cheese/crackers/fruit...

Did my research this morning on lax showers if you can't access a lounge. Cheapest option outside the terminals is 24 hour fitness gym - take the 5 min shuttle to Crowne plaza lax - gym is in 2nd floor of building just next door, $10 entry, $8 to buy a towel or bring your own, shower and...

Hilton @ O'hare (Chicago Airport hotel) anyone stayed here??

Stayed here a couple of years ago when i missed a united connection due to a storm. No problems with noise. It is an airport hotel though with that depressing feeling emanating from tired travellers, so spend as much time in Chicago city as you can (lots of jazz bars to fill in the evenings!!)...

QF4 HNL-SYD in J -a pleasant enough experience but feels like first class in 1980s

Re: QF4 HNL-SYD in J -a pleasant enough experience but feels like first class in 1980 I thought so too, and have used in seat power in an international-config 767 flying Mel-Syd before, but couldn't find a seat power outlet on this flight in row 1a business, and flight attendant assured me...

QF4 HNL-SYD in J -a pleasant enough experience but feels like first class in 1980s

Took advantage of a Qantas sale to take a return business class flight from Sydney to Honolulu, to mark a special celebration for my partner. I will review the return day flight, although the forward overnight flight was similar. It's on a very old 767, and I was pleased to have read the AFF...

QF636 SAGA!! How do I ensure this gets looked at?

Agree Qantas at great fault. But in addition, the bus driver should not have dropped passengers at a closed terminal - the driver should have a duty of care to leave passengers at a safe destination (which might have been the city rail terminal or a 24hr hotel with access to transport &...
