what is more interesting is that the OP's daughter got stopped at the lounge. Don't you just saunter in like you own the place in these domestic lounges? They don't normally check / scan boarding passes.

any midnight departure should be a sleeper service full stop. lights out after takeoff. nothing more annoying than having lights go on at 1am and the carts coming out... who eats at 1am local time (unless drunk)? maybe have a dine on demand service for those really wanting to eat.
