You can’t do this when your travel domestic on an international flight. You need a physical boarding pass with a D sticker on it.

I can answer my own question on this so it’s here for anyone who asks the same question in the future. I arrived at the airport at 1pm and the first check in suite was open and accepting check in for QF9 with departure time of 450pm.

Hi. I’m on QF9 Melbourne to Perth today and have no checked bags. Am I able to check in to get a boarding pass more than 3 hours before departure and have longer to enjoy the first lounge?

Is this lounge currently open? The website says it is closed. Flying in on QF9 Monday 26 September and I assume the AA arrivals lounge no longer takes Qantas flyers.

I used the express path line in Sydney two weeks ago. Travelling in J with QF. Didn’t help much as had to go to an immigration agent anyway but it was in use.

Hi - I recall that Qantas used to have all day check in at Syd international. I am flying on QF5 to Perth (ie only the domestic leg) and wanted to maximise my time in the first lounge. Is all day check in still available or has COVID brought an end to that? Thanks

Total fail today in Canberra for QF833. I purposefully lined up early (second in PB line). A general call was made. No policing or even any care. Different to my experience in Perth and Melbourne. Seems odd to me as I am sure the crew on this flight are the same crew from Melbourne yesterday...

Also ended up with the refurbed bird. Not much difference in First except it is bright, clean, the seat a little more comfortable and the TV a little bigger. Also the inflight entertainment has been standardised to that on the A330’s and 789. The area upstairs though is fantastic and usable...
