AND a trial run at home. Phenergan can sometimes have the opposite effect. My sister gave it to my niece at home to trial before the long haul to LHR and she was bouncing off the walls for hours. And hours.

My supper services in both F and J out of LAX always get salad and dessert. Smaller main, but still decent enough. Not sure if it's different out of DFW though.

Thanks, bismarck. I've checked it out and you're correct that I won't qualify for an E-3 because nannying doesn't require a degree. I was trying to see if I could be a nanny for complex babies (those that are premature, need medications, oxygen etc) because that's what I spend most of my time...

If you're not planning any other trips where you want to upgrade then I'd definitely put the request in. I think it's worth it! Plus after flying in F on the way over, you won't want to 'slum it' in J on the way back :) Enjoy your trip!

I've spent about 10 weeks out of the past 12 months in LA - I'm pretty well acquainted with the traffic now, but it doesn't bother me as it's my partner who does all the driving (though we tend to avoid peak hour).

My problem is that my university degree (I'm a registered midwife) does not get me anywhere because they don't have hospital based midwives over there. If I were able to get a green card I would probably end up doing newborn care nannying. I can't get a work visa though, and the only way I can...

See what others think, but I wouldn't be risking it. I've never had an op-up with QF, some others have been lucky though. You're still 48-72 hours out so don't forget the WP and SG ahead of you who will have points upgrades in. Those will start to clear around T-48 for WP and T-24 for SG.

Also how far away is the flight with loadings like that?

I'd say zero chance of an op-up as silver. Keep the points request in. Edit: Welcome the forum!
