    Lounge at HBA

That sorta makes sense! Departures one end and Arrivals one end, instead of Departures at one end and arrivals.. at either end of the airport. Although Hobart isn't very big at all, so it's not really a big deal. It'll be hard on those wanting arrivals lounge access maybe :)

Be first to see the new Qantas Frequent Flyer 'Curiosity' campaign [on June 13th]

Sent as well! Even though I have an assignment due in tomorrow, this was still a much needed source of enjoyment this week. Cheers! Actually, same here, so I do hope you've received it Red Roo - confirmation would be greatly appreciated :D

Be first to see the new Qantas Frequent Flyer 'Curiosity' campaign [on June 13th]

Are there any guidelines for this? Usually the competitions are only 25 words or so.. I've gone a bit over that limit..

Planning to fly to london - who with?

Re: planning to fly to london Not sure about how narrow your choices are, but my sister has booked a trip to LHR in May as well. She booked MH for a very decent price (asian travel agent haha) and they fly the A380 between KUL and some parts of Europe e.g. Frankfurt and London I believe. I am...

    AA's new livery

Re: The New American (Airlines) Yeah, there was meant to be sound, I assume you've managed to wrangle it somehow? As long as they don't check it at every row, I would assume that would slow them down considerably. This must be for elite entitlements like F&B on board?

    AA's new livery

The New American (Airlines) I was browsing Facebook.. or Facebook Stalking when I saw a post from AA regarding a rebranding of their company. (BTW, I have no idea the status of their chapt 11 filing, I assume it's still in effect and this is some sort of outcome from that..!) It takes you to a...

AA Award Flight on QF - who do I call to allocate seat

I did exactly this on an AA award on QF within Australia. Enquired about my booking over the phone, selected seats (limited seating as per lower status) and linked it to another award with a friend and asked them for the Qantas/Amadeus PRN, then I was able to view it on the Qantas website, but I...

    Currency exchange. Oz or Japan.

It's been a few years since I went, but this is spot on. It was hard enough finding ATMs, let alone somewhere for FX and the rate was also disappointing within the country - the airport gave the most favourable rates sadly. Australia was a much better place for converting to Yen and Japan is...

    Location for AFF Gathering #7

Having voted for Hobart for AFF #6, I'm not sure how I missed 8 pages of voting for AFF #7, but there you go. I'm somewhat pleasantly surprised that I might finally be able to make an AFF gathering as it looks like I'm stuck in Hobart another year, although it will depend on dates of course...

    MPD Vouchers

I wish I had read this thread earlier.. I sent one off but I heard QDT instead of QET from the CSR.. Reckon there'll be much delay in processing my ticket?! I depart in less than 2 weeks! I also hand-wrote a cover letter :D, but it did have the ticket number and booking reference in it and my...

Is it appropriate for a hotel clerk to comment on the rate you paid?

Pretty much just said I've booked using the system many times (pre-paid rate) and it quite clearly stated how much per night (at the cheap rate), so it wasn't a fault of mine. If they didn't honour it, I was prepared not to stay there though, so not too fussed. Although if that happened, I...

Is it appropriate for a hotel clerk to comment on the rate you paid?

I had a mistake fare for a 3 night booking where the system gave me 3 nights for the price of 1. They definitely commented on it and wanted to charge me the full 3 nights but I had print-outs and all the right documentation, so they had to honour it and took it up with the booking system...

    Do free upgrades exist?

Was travelling from LHR-MEL via SIN in Y and received an upgrade to PE on the SIN-MEL leg on the same A380 plane. Part of a MEL-LHR-MEL return ticket. Due to a refrigeration issue LHR-SIN, they gave us all $20 SGD worth in food vouchers to utilise in SIN, so I had a bunch of delifrance bags...

[PER-East Coast Business] catering particularly good at the moment

Was going to add my 2 cents, but I'll just steal yours! While the King Prawns were just alright, I thought the snapper was delicious! I was tempted to ask for seconds, but didn't want to be that guy :) And even though the King Prawns were just alright, it feels good to eat King Prawns on a...

    OW Mega Do.

Ahhhhhh! I was flying ex-JFK to LHR and it turned out to be the very flight that the One World Mega Do was on! I'm not sure which leg or anything.. but there was a massive sign at the premium check-in area as well as outside the Admiral's Club and also at the gate. Anyway, since I don't have...

Not using all the fare on multi sector

I think/thought American carriers have clauses in the T&C's for re-assessment, but I couldn't find the same clause in the conditions of carriage for Qantas. You could even argue (probably not successfully) that you didn't use your whole ticket and you wanted a refund for the SYD-CBR sector...

Not using all the fare on multi sector

If you had checked-in, couldn't you request to send it just to Sydney?
